Melissa Schultz, OD

About Melissa Schultz, OD

As a young girl living in Ohio, Dr. Schultz realized that she wanted to become an Optometrist the second she put on glasses for the first time. She was fascinated by how clearly she could see the world! That passion for clear vision and helping people becomes very evident when she is caring for her patients. A patient recently said, “Dr. Schultz truly cares about the whole patient’s care and well-being.” To pursue her dreams of becoming an Optometrist, Dr. Schultz chose Michigan State University, where she graduated with honors in Human Biology. She then continued to the Michigan College of Optometry, where she earned an honors distinction as well. Although passionate about primary eye care, Dr. Schultz has vast experience in treating ocular disease. These impactful experiences enabled her to excel in caring for patients of all ages with a range of eye diseases. As a long-time contact lens wearer, Dr. Schultz is passionate about providing the latest technology in contact lenses to all of her patients, including specialty lenses designed for keratoconus or other corneal irregularities, and she has received post-doctorate training and certifications. When Dr. Schultz is not at the office, you can find her volunteering at one of her daughters’ schools. She has been recognized with the Founder’s Day award for her dedication and is currently the head of a community service club at the Middle School. She and her family all enjoy being active outdoors, especially on the Great Lakes in the summer.
