What does providing a transformational eyecare experience mean to you? When a person puts on their new glasses, and they have that “Wow” look. There’s no better feeling as an eye is professional. What drives your passion for optometry? I understand and respect that as humans, one of many people’s greatest fears is “the loss of sight”. As an optometrist, providing vision via glasses/CLs is rewarding, more importantly, protecting that gift is a responsibility that I strive to serve. Hobbies/Interests: Animal advocate, spending any free time attending animal functions/ charity events. Also, a proud shelter parent to many adopted pets.

I enjoy traveling to underserved countries and providing care to people who've never had exams before. Giving someone glasses who have never had them and watching them see for the first time is amazing! How are you helping patients live their best lives? I enjoy helping people see their best and giving them the ability to keep performing the tasks and hobbies that are the most important to them. What does providing a transformational eyecare experience mean to you? It means taking the time to listen to you patients, answer their questions and make sure they are comfortable with the decisions we are making to improve their vision together. How are you impacting your local community? giving to local schools, charities and spending time getting to know my community playing sports and volunteering. Providing quality vision with glasses and contacts, but also making sure their eye health is at optimal functionality. Dr. Blake Smith graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from Texas Tech and a Doctorate of Optometry, including certifications for Optometric Therapy and as a Glaucoma Specialist, from the University of Houston in 2007. He has served as the Panhandle Optometric Society President from 2009 to present. Dr. Smith and his family are members of Trinity Fellowship Church. In his spare time, Dr. Smith loves to golf, travel and spend time with his wife, Jennifer, and two daughters.
