Helping patients get what they visually need. How are you helping patients live their best lives? I am helping our kids function to their potential with their busy electronic educational demands, which helps families understand the various visual needs. What does providing a transformational eyecare experience mean to you? Not only are the basic needs of seeing adequately important but understanding how vision and its devices can affect some peoples' overall development, or a simple change in a pair of glasses can make you feel better, can give a unique eyecare experience. How are you impacting your local community? I enjoy teaching my patients overall basic eye health and anatomy and how it pertains to their unique situation, which can promote better hygiene overall. Hobbies/Interests: Hobbies are volunteering, spending time with family and friends, watching sports, and whatever interests my children are into at the time, which is currently Taekwondo, and spending time at the beach.

Dr. David R. Lopez, a therapeutic optometrist, received his Bachelor of Science degree in biology, from the University of Houston, in 1972. He earned his Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Houston College of Optometry in 1975. In 2001 he completed additional training and received his license as an Optometric Glaucoma Specialist. His practice offers comprehensive vision and eye health examinations, contact lens fittings, and Lasik co-management. Dr. Lopez has been a member of the American Optometric Association, Texas Optometric Association, and the Harris County Optometric Society since 1976.

BSVS: Illinois College of Optometry, 1975 ; M.Ed.: Loyola University, 1976 (Masters Degree in Educational Psychology); O.D.: Illinois College of Optometry, 1977; Valedictorian, Summa Cum Laude, with numerous honors and awards. Fellow, American Academy of Optometry. Certificate in Pediatric Optometry, Illinois College of Optometry, 1977. Dr. Caren Weisz has practiced optometry for 45 years, and served the Joliet community for over 35 years. She cares for all ages, with specialized care for children, learning problems, and computer eyestrain. State-of-the-art contact lenses are on hand for the most comfortable and best vision attainable. Glasses of the highest quality are available as needed for the aging population, as are instruments to diagnose and monitor for ocular disease. Dr. Weisz especially enjoys seeing patients bringing their children in, recalling their positive experiences doing the same when they were young. She especially enjoys the gratitude of so many, many patients coming to her for years, expressing joy in the many years of care that allowed them to see so well. Dr. Weisz continues to accept new patients, and help those in need of good, healthy, comfortable vision. Dr. Weisz’s hobbies primarily relate to family and health. She has 4 children and 10 grandchildren. Keeping everyone healthy and happy and working to their potential is her primary concern!
