Chequita Hilversum, OD

About Chequita Hilversum, OD

Dr. Hilversum’s interest in eyes started when she was a child listening to stories on how her great grandmother lost her sight due to glaucoma. In 1995, she received her doctorate degree in optometry from Nova Southern University. Afterwards, she did a residency in primary care optometry at the VA in Brockton and Boston, Massachusetts. Dr. Hilversum had her own practice in Panama City, FL, and also in Suriname, South America. She likes to help people see better and enjoys her work. She speaks several languages including English, Dutch, Spanish and Sranan Tongo (a dialect spoken in Suriname).
