About Tanya Malhotra, OD

Dr. Tanya Malhotra grew up in Toronto, Canada, where she obtained her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Waterloo. She then travelled to Philadelphia to attend the Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus University, during which time she was a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa Optometric Honor Society. Dr. Malhotra graduated magna cum laude as a Doctor of Optometry with clinical honors in neuro-ophthalmic disease and primary care, and went on to complete her ocular disease residency at Seidenberg Protzko Eye Associates in Maryland. During her residency, she presented at the American Academy of Optometry and also achieved Diplomate status from the American Board of Optometry. She worked in a privately owned Ophthalmology practice in Delaware for several years after residency, before relocating back to Maryland to join MyEyeDr. Her practice includes full-scope comprehensive eye care with an emphasis on ocular disease. Her areas of special interest include dry eye as well as emergency care. She enjoys cooking, traveling and spending time with her friends and family.

Her externship studies included ocular disease, specialty contact lenses, and low vision. “ I take time to explain the results of eye exams, describe patients’ treatment options, and listen to their eye care needs. Because maintaining good eye health is an ongoing partnership, I encourage patients to ask questions and share their health information, which could be vital to monitoring, diagnosing, and treating potential vision problems.” Dr. Gibbs has been practicing in the North Dallas area for the past 24 years. She spends most of her free time with her family as well as reading, exercising, and participating in various forms of civic and community service.
