Dr. Thatcher graduated from Ferris State University in 2005 with a Bachelor of Science in Vision Science. In 2008, she earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from the Michigan College of Optometry. Dr. Thatcher completed an ocular disease residency at Indiana University School of Optometry in 2009. She is currently a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry. Dr. Thatcher has also participated in two mission trips to Mexico. Her areas of special interest include ocular disease and primary care.

Dr. Martin originally hails from Massachusetts and earned a Bachelor of Science from the University of Hartford in 1993. He then earned his Doctorate of Optometry from The Ohio State University in 1998 and completed the residency in Low Vision Rehabilitation with a Masters in Physiological Optics in 2000. He is currently a member of the American Optometric and Ohio Optometric Associations. He enjoys all aspects of optometric care. He currently resides in the Dayton area and in his free time enjoys music, swimming, and greyhound adoption.

Dr. Reffner has practiced optometry for over 17 years. She did her undergraduate studies in Biology at Bowling Green State University. She earned her Doctor of Optometry from Southern College of Optometry in 1998. Dr. Reffner is a member of the American Optometric Association, and has participated in eye care programs with Prevent Blindness, Real Eyes, and Hope House. Her interests include primary care optometry and contact lenses. Dr. Reffner resides in West Chester with her husband and three children.

Undergraduate Education: Rice University, Houston Texas- Biochemistry. Optometry School: Ohio State University College of Optometry. How are you impacting your local community or helping your patients live their best lives? I am impacting my local community by providing comprehensive eye exams for children and adults, diabetic eye exams, contact lens fittings, and ocular disease management. I have been at this location for 23 years, so I am truly a part of this community. Hobbies: My hobbies and interests include backpacking, travelling, and spending time with my wife and 2 dogs.

Dr. Dawson grew up farming in southern Ohio before going to Mount Vernon Nazarene College for his undergraduate studies. He then decided to pursue a career in optometry and subsequently graduated from The Ohio State University College of Optometry in 1997. After graduating he served a tour of duty with the U.S. Army in Wuerzburg, Germany as a part of the 67th Combat Support Hospital supporting missions in Bosnia with Task Force Eagle. After his time in the military he returned to the United States and purchased a single doctor practice in Springfield, Ohio. The practice grew to become a five doctor practice and in February of 2020, he and his colleagues joined the MyEyeDr family. He is married to his beautiful wife Wendi and they have 7 wonderful children. Dr. Dawson also has a life long passion for songwriting and music as well and performs often.

Dr. Houtkin is originally from New Jersey and completed his undergraduate studies at Temple University in Philadelphia. He received his Doctor of Optometry Degree from Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago and went to San Antonio to fulfill a commitment with the Air Force. He is licensed as a Therapeutic Optometrist and Optometric Glaucoma Specialist. He is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Texas Optometric Association and is Board Certified with the American Board of Clinical Optometry. Dr. Houtkin is married to Deborah and they have four children and five grandchildren. He enjoys family gatherings, gardening and working with native Xeriscape plants. He has played accordion and trumpet from a very young age. Having spent over thirty years living in San Antonio, Dr. and Mrs. Houtkin are excited to be living here with the wonderful people of College Station. He is looking forward to many years of caring for their vision in a warm, friendly atmosphere.

Undergraduate Education: Colorado State University, BS in Biology, Minor in Anatomy & Neurobiology/. Optometry School: Pacific University College of Optometry. Clinical Certifications and Specialties: I have a special interest in myopia management and specialty contact lenses. I have certifications in Wave, Paragon CRT and MiSight lenses. The reason I became an optometrist is: I experienced an injury that put me in the care of optometrists and ophthalmologists at a very early age. Because of my own experiences and the care, I received, I developed a love for the field. It’s important to me that my patients feel well taken care of and that I continue to learn the best ways to facilitate their vision outcomes. Hobbies/Interests: I enjoy spending time with my 3 boys hiking, tubing, and exploring Colorado.
