Dr. Filchak was raised in Woodbury and attended Nonnewaug High School. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Connecticut in 1980, and graduated as a Doctor of Optometry in 1985 from the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee. Dr. Filchak is certified as an advanced optometric practitioner. He provides the full spectrum of optometric services from general optometry, contact lenses, LASIK pre & post-op care, and the treatment of eye diseases. Dr. Filchak resides in Woodbury with his wife, Mary.

In my spare time, I enjoy: tennis, video games, housework, and binge-watching TV shows and movies.

I was drawn to optometry as a career that is both deeply rewarding and offers a meaningful balance between professional fulfillment and flexibility.
