I am helping my patients live their best lives by giving them the lens to view their world. I am impacting my local community, where I was born and raised, by serving my former teachers, neighbors and their families, friends, and their families, as well as all the wonderful patients I have gotten to know throughout my career. I feel very fortunate to have been able to develop lifelong relationships with them. Hobbies- Outdoor activities, gardening, exercise, and the ocean. Interests- Spending time with my family, friends, and especially my two little granddaughters.

Graduated from Stephen F. Austin University in 1981 with a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry and Biology. Received Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Houston College of Optometry in 1990. Dr. Black has been in practice since 1990 providing comprehensive eye care to the people of Richardson and the surrounding areas.

How are you impacting your local community or helping your patients live their best lives? I have loved the profession of Optometry since I was in undergrad, working for both Optometrists and opticals. I now provide comprehensive eye exams for adults and children, contact lens fittings, eye health, and ocular disease management. Hobbies/Interest: Reading, work puzzles and games, expressing my creative side with arts and crafts, playing with my dog, spending time with friends, and traveling to be with family.

Providing the best care possible, by offering patients newest and most appropriate eye care solutions for them. Hobbies/Interests: fishing, traveling, and spending time with family.

The continuing and expanding ability to positively affect patients' quality of life by allowing them to experience it with maximum clarity. How are you helping patients live their best lives? Providing personalized solutions for maximum visual and ocular health. What does providing a transformational eyecare experience mean to you? Providing an experience that is tailored to the patients' motivations for clearer vision in an practice environment where the experience is individualized, and service is both personable and memorable. How are you impacting your local community? With two kids in the local school district, I am involved with many activities and sports teams. What drives your passion for optometry? I've wanted to be an optometrist since I was 13 years old. So, I am daily living out my childhood dream. Since graduating in 1999, I still love taking care of my patients' individual needs. How are you helping patients live their best lives? I often say I cannot do a person's work for them, but I can make it easier for them to do their work by meeting their individual visual needs. What does providing a transformational eyecare experience mean to you? A transformational eyecare experience happens when a person's quality of life is improved by what we prescribe and recommend, and then they refer people to us and come back year after year. How are you impacting your local community? Not only do I help with patients' visual needs, but I have seen many of these people for years, and we become like family. Sometimes I am just a listening ear. Hobbies/Interests: I love traveling and experiencing wine. I enjoy watching baseball, especially when it involves my kids.
