Dr. Matthiew Hoogland (Dr. Matt) is a board-certified optometrist specializing in primary care and ocular disease management. Hailing from northwest Iowa, he earned his BS in Biology from Dordt University (2009) and optometry degree from Pacific University (2017), followed by a year-long ocular disease residency in Oklahoma. Now calling North Carolina home, Dr. Matt is proud to be part of the American and North Carolina Optometric Associations. Dr. Matt is passionate about patient care and in his free time enjoys pickleball, hiking, and playing piano for his local church.

Born and raised in Western New York, Nicole Pederson earned her B.S. degree in biology from Niagara University and her Doctor of optometry degree from NOVA Southeastern University. She completed externships at Katzen Eye group in Baltimore, Maryland and the Wilmington VA in Wilmington, Delaware. Dr. Pederson is passionate about personalized, patient-centered care that is tailored to meet each patient’s unique needs. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling with her family, walks with her dog, reading, gardening, and live music.

Dr. Kesbeh was born and raised in Central Texas. He earned his undergraduate degree from Texas A&M University and his Doctorate of Optometry from the University of Houston College of Optometry. Passionate about advancing the field of optometry, Dr. Kesbeh stays on the cutting edge of care with expertise in dry eye management, myopia control, specialty contact lenses, glaucoma management, and diabetic eye exams. He is dedicated to providing comprehensive, personalized care to help his patients achieve and maintain eye health. Outside the clinic, Dr. Kesbeh enjoys hiking and exploring the great outdoors. He is an avid traveler and loves visiting national and state parks during his vacations.

Dr. Morovati received his B.S. in biology from Troy University in Troy, AL in 1998 and continued to the University of Alabama at Birmingham where he received his doctorate of Optometry in 2003. His interest in Optometry began while he was a research assistant at the United States Army Aeromedical Research Lab in Ft. Rucker, AL, assisting in night vision technology research for helicopter pilots, among other projects, while he was studying biology in college. He has been practicing Optometry since 2003 and has worked in many different settings throughout his career in several states including CO, CA, NY and GA. He loves to go hiking in the warmer months in CO and loves to learn all the latest developments in theoretical and quantum physics in his spare time. He is proud to bring his years of experience in Optometry to My Eye Dr and loves to aid patients in all their visual needs.

Dr. Michelle Gambacorta received her bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of Hartford in West Hartford, Connecticut. She received her Doctorate of Optometry at the New England College of Optometry in Boston, Massachusetts. Dr. Gambacorta provides outstanding care to patients of all ages in a primary care setting with emphasis on ocular disease. Outside the office, she is spending time with her family enjoying Buffalo snow storms in the winter and boating on Lake Erie in the summer. Go Bills!

Dr. Sendker provides expert eye health services with a personal touch, supported by his 30+ years of career experience. He earned a Doctor of Optometry from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in Elkins Park, PA. In addition to his practice, Dr. Sendker is a faculty member at Erie Community College. Dr. Punit Bhakta provides comprehensive vision care including routine exams and the treatment of various types of eye disease. He is currently a member of the American Optometric Association and the Georgia Optometric Association. Dr. Bhakta grew up in Biloxi, Mississippi. He graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology from THE University of Georgia. He earned his Doctorate of Optometry from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, School of Optometry. Dr. Bhakta completed a Residency in Ocular Disease and Refractive surgery with Woolfson Eye Institute in Atlanta, Georgia, where he learned to diagnose and treat rare forms of eye disease in one of the premier ophthalmology clinics in the southeast. In his free time, Dr. Bhakta enjoys rooting for the DAWGS each fall during college football season, playing golf, and enjoying different types of food. He currently resides in Smryna, with his wife Divya and daughters Nyla and Liya.

Dr. Leonard earned her Doctor of Optometry from Indiana University School of Optometry in Bloomington, IN. She has years of experience in diagnosis, treatment, and management of eye health for the benefit of each patient, as she provides expert service with personal, caring attention. Dr. Gambacorta studied at the New England College of Optometry in Boston, MA where he earned his Doctor of Optometry. He has treated numerous patients in 30+ years as an eye health specialist, from children to seniors, and is highly regarded by his colleagues for his knowledge and experience.
