The reason I became an optometrist is: Improve patients’ lives by giving them the best vision and eye health. My favorite part of helping my patients is: Giving a child their first pair of glasses and then hearing how much it helped improve their school performance. In my spare time, I enjoy: Golf, watching my daughter play tennis and spending time with my family, dog, and cats.

The reason I became an optometrist is: I became an Optometrist because I enjoy caring for people and their visual needs. The concept of working on a visual problem whose solution would lead to better visual health for my patients is extremely rewarding. My favorite part of helping my patients is: Being able to provide a high level of care and the great opportunity to diagnose, treat, and manage various eye conditions and diseases. In my spare time, I enjoy: Traveling, exercising, creating health/beauty products, and spending time with family and friends.

The reason I became an optometrist is: I became an optometrist to help enhance people’s life through maintaining and preserving their most precious sense-vision. My favorite part of helping my patients is: My favorite part of helping my patients is seeing their smiles when I can enhance their vision and thus their lives. In my spare time, I enjoy: Spending time with my three children (Sarah, Ava, and Reed) and travel.

The reason I became an optometrist is: Optometry is a wonderful specialty in healthcare that allows me to treat, and manage, many different facets of eye health, while maintaining a healthy work/home life balance. My favorite part of helping my patients is: Hearing their excitement when they see an improvement in their vision or eye health. In my spare time, I enjoy: Spending time with my two children, husband, and our two dogs.

Undergraduate Education: I graduated from Albright College in 2013 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and Biology. Optometry School: I received my Doctor of Optometry degree with honors from Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus University in 2017. Professional Achievements and Associations: I am currently a member of the Pennsylvania Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association. I am also a member Beta Sigma Kappa, the International Optometric Honor Society and Psi Chi, the International Honor Society in Psychology. Clinical Certifications and Specialties: I have a special interest in detecting and treating dry eye disease. Dry eye disease is a multifactorial disease that is caused by many different things. Today we have lots of new technology which aids in the treatment and management of dry eye disease. I strive to make all my dry eye patients as comfortable and happy as I can. The reason I became an optometrist is: My father and grandfather were both successful optometrists. From the time I was in middle school I worked in my father’s office, and I continued working there until I left for Albright College. It was during these formative years that I developed a passion for optometry and vision care. My favorite part of helping my patients is: As an optometrist I enjoy helping patients in any way that I can, whether that be treating eye diseases, providing eyeglasses or contact lenses, educating patients on their ocular condition, helping patients with their visual needs both at home and at work, or just answering questions that patients may have about their eyes. In my spare time, I enjoy: In my spare time I enjoy playing with my dogs Hamilton and Winry, playing golf with my father, reading, working on puzzles, and spending quality time with my husband.

The reason I became an optometrist is: I am very myopic and as a teenager contact lenses really improved my life. My favorite part of helping my patients is: helping them to live their best lives. In my spare time, I enjoy: Traveling/biking/painting/spending time with my family.

Clinical Certifications and Specialties: Completed an Optometric Primary Care Residency at the Memphis VA Medical Center. The reason I became an optometrist is: To help people daily in a tangible way; whether that means adjusting their glasses prescription so they can read the newspaper each morning, fitting a teen in contact lenses for the first time, or taking care of that corneal abrasion after getting scratched in the eye. My favorite part of helping my patients is: Getting to know them on a personal level. Learning who they are and what they like to do not only help me determine the best solutions to their optical needs, but also makes the workday feel more like a visit with friends! In my spare time, I enjoy: Spending time with my family, usually outdoors. My husband competes professionally in disc golf, so you can generally find us at one of East Texas’ several disc golf courses!
