I also like fact that optometrists are primary health care providers. We are often the first to diagnose diseases like diabetes or high blood pressure and able to refer patients to their general practitioner for treatment. My favorite part of helping my patients is: Designing specialty prescriptions to help patients with their hobbies or unique job applications.
