My favorite part of helping my patients is watching a patient's reaction when they see the world through a pair of glasses for the first time. The way a person's face lights up when they can see clearly is priceless.

The reason I became an optometrist is: Having a sibling that is an optometrist and 15 years older, I was introduced to the profession at an early age. I was able to see “behind the scenes” and was immediately interested in the profession. I always gravitated towards the sciences in school and as I progressed through my education, it became clearer that optometry was the perfect fit. My favorite part of helping my patients is: Giving a patient his or her first pair of glasses, especially kids. Their reaction to seeing the world clear for the first time is priceless. Also, being informed by a parent that a child’s school performance has improved because of his or her glasses is something that never gets old. In my spare time, I enjoy: Playing golf; Spending time with my wife and kids.
