From there, I developed a fascination for the human eye. That fascination combined with my desire to pursue a career where I could make a difference in people's lives, led me to optometry. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, watching TV, and traveling with my wife. My favorite part of helping my patients is being able to make a patient's life more enjoyable by helping them see better.

Undergraduate Education: Northern Illinois University - graduated in 2010 with honors. Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, Minor equivalent in Chemistry. Optometry School: Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences University (MCPHSU) - graduated With honors in 2016. Professional Achievements and Associations: Member of American Academy of Optometry, American Optometric Association, Illinois Optometric Association, Beta Sigma Kappa (Optometric Honor Society). Clinical Certifications and Specialties: Residency at the Lexington Veteran Affairs Hospital - 2016-2017. Focus on Ocular disease, Low Vision and Polytrauma (with vision therapy elements). The reason I became an optometrist is: To help people see the world better. My favorite part of helping my patients is: Talking about all the options and possibilities that are available to each patient for their individual needs. In my spare time, I enjoy: Hiking, live music, the beach and snowboarding.

Dr. Arndt earned his degree in optometry at Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, a school known for its focus on state-of-the-art technologies. He was raised in Hampton and attended Old Dominion University where he studied civil engineering. He credits this training for his love of measuring and mapping the eye with precision when diagnosing and treating his patients. He is passionate about bringing advanced technologies and treatments to his practice. Dr. Arndt is an active supporter of Optometry Giving Sight and enjoys spending time with his wife and three grown children.

Making sure patients eyes are healthy with the clearest vision. How are you helping patients live their best lives? By providing the necessary vision correction to read, learn and safe driving. How are you impacting your local community? Serving the population in all aspects of vision care. Hobbies/Interests: Collecting vintage Marvel comic books, cruising in my classic car, camping, kayaking, hiking.

What drives your passion for optometry? I enjoy providing high quality, personalized medical and routine eye exams to patients with whom I genuinely enjoy our interactions in bettering their eye health needs. I also like to both educate my patients and place them at ease so that their experience at MyEyeDr is a two-way dialogue where we both listen and respond in a relaxed setting. Hobbies/interest. Traveling, spreading time with family and listening to music.

I am passionate about providing my patients with the best care possible through compassion, understanding, and expertise. I am also a huge proponent of finding a provider that will take the time to listen to what you have to say as a patient. The connections built between the doctor and patient can be a lifelong relationship and should be fostered with the utmost empathy. Hobbies/ Interests: Hot yoga, running, spending time with my family and 4 dogs.

Professional Achievements and Associations: Member AOA; Member IOA; Member CIOS. Clinical Certifications and Specialties: AOA's Aviation Vision Certification. The reason I became an optometrist is: It sounds simple, but the noticeable improvement in my personal vision when I got glasses as a kid really stuck with me. Another one of my best memories was getting fitted into contact lenses when I was 13 years old and being able to see clearly again without having to wear glasses to play football and baseball. I wanted to be able to give that same experience to kids and adults alike. My favorite part of helping my patients is: I love seeing the joy on patient's faces when they put their new prescription glasses on, or put their contacts in, and they can see the world again clearly. I also truly enjoy seeing patient’s year after year and getting to know them and their families. In my spare time, I enjoy: Watching football, playing sports with my 2 kids, golfing, taking vacations to the mountains and hiking, and playing retro video games from the 1990's.

Professional Achievements and Associations Member of the American Optometric Association; Member of the Indiana Optometric Association; Awarded Ossip Optometry's Doctor of the Year in 2017. Clinical Certifications and Specialties: I enjoy treating glaucoma and fitting specialty contact lenses. The reason I became an optometrist is: I want to help people. I always wanted to go into the medical field, and optometry was the perfect field for me. My favorite part of helping my patients is: I love it when I can change someone's life by helping them to see better. I also enjoy getting to know my patients and developing lifelong relationships with them over the years. In my spare time, I enjoy: I love volleyball. I played in college and Optometry school. I also enjoy spending time with my 2 kids and attending their soccer games. My husband and I love taking trips, especially where we get to hike and be outdoors. Our favorite vacation spot to date is Banff, Canada.

The reason I became an optometrist is: Watching my sister struggle to read due to a vision issue made me aware of the impact good vision can have on a person's life. I want to be able to help people reach their full potential by helping them have the best vision possible. My favorite part of helping my patients is: Helping them enjoy life through good vision. In my spare time, I enjoy: Reading, knitting, and my dogs and cats.
