Timothy Leach, OD
Witnessing his best friend experience the challenges of being blind in one eye since birth (retinopathy of prematurity) made Dr. Tim Leach want to make a difference and help people who are visually challenged. As an eye doctor, he lives by four golden rules: listen; treat everyone how you would want to be treated; explain the why he is doing what he prescribes; and of course, have confidence.
Dr. Leach is certified in multiple advanced clinical procedures and is one of the few optometrists in the U.S. who is certified to perform RxSight Light Adjustable Lens treatments. What excites him most about being an optometrist are the many opportunities for leadership in refractive care (clinical refraction), keratoconus (hybrid and scleral lenses), corneal crosslinking, glaucoma, and the ever-expanding scope of practice in medical optometry (such as lasers and injectables).
As far as what is most rewarding, Dr. Leach says it is being the guardian of his patients’ eyesight and ocular health, especially when he can give someone the best eyesight they can have. What he loves most about his practice’s staff is the professional nature of how they engage with and help patients with their visual needs, truly serving as one team.
Dr. Leach likes to stay active in his church community and goes on medical mission trips to Central America. Outside of work he enjoys golfing and playing saxophone with local cover bands in New Orleans and Dallas/Fort Worth. He is also an avid football and baseball fan.
Dr. Leach is launching VEH (Video Assisted Eye Health) in his market for the first time and will be the virtual OD for his office.
