Undergraduate Education: Bachelor of Science from Purdue University, majoring in Biology and minoring in Spanish. Optometry School: Illinois College of Optometry, 2009. Professional Achievements and Associations: Indiana Optometric Association, American Optometric Association. Clinical Certifications and Specialties: Primary care, dry eye treatment, computer vision syndrome. The reason I became an optometrist is: I was interested in healthcare from a young age as I knew I wanted to be in a field that makes an impact and difference on others. I was fortunate enough to not need any vision correction while growing up but had many family members who either wore glasses or suffered from eye conditions (Glaucoma, etc.). I came to realize that the field of optometry is so fascinating in that I would get to care for not only patients' vision needs (glasses and contacts), but also help with their healthcare needs. I am lucky to work in a field with ever changing technology that allows me to provide this comprehensive care to patients each day. My favorite part of helping my patients is: I am fortunate to work in the area I grew up (graduated from Franklin Central High School), so it's been a humbling experience to impact the community I know and love. Forming trusting relationships with my patients and their families by helping them see and feel better is so rewarding each day. In my spare time, I enjoy: Traveling, live theater, playing tennis, Cubs baseball, shoe shopping, and exploring parks and museums with my husband and kids (Keenan and Nahla). I also love a good book, a cup of coffee, and binge-watching Netflix!

Clinical Certifications and Specialties: Advanced Studies in Contact Lens Certification; Professional Practice Honors Recognition in all 4th year Rotations. The reason I became an optometrist is: because I'm near-sighted myself, so from an early age I knew the importance of having my eyes checked regularly. My favorite part of helping my patients is: using my skills and knowledge to explain how their eyes are doing vision and health wise in a way that is easy for them to understand :) In my spare time, I enjoy: Spending time with my husband and my husky, Czar. I also enjoy traveling and finding the best pizza spots!

Certifications/Awards: Ocular Disease Residency training at Seidenberg Protzko Eye Associates in Havre de Grace, Maryland. How are you impacting your local community or helping your patients live their best lives? I am in such a rewarding career, and I want to ensure every patient gets the best outcome for both their visual and ocular health. Hobbies/Interests: traveling, photography, playing tennis, and spending time with friends and family.

Undergraduate Education: Abilene Christian University 1992. Optometry School: Southern College of Optometry 1998. How are you impacting your local community or helping your patients live their best lives? I love being a part of this community and helping it to see better. The smile and satisfaction when I can help someone is very rewarding. Hobbies/Interests: I love to watch football and cheer on the Cowboys and the Crimson Tide with my son Cullen, I love to go to the movies with my daughter Sara Jane, and love traveling with my wife Erin. One of my favorites is to watch Cullen do what he loves, which is to compete on the basketball court.

Dr. Yesha Sharma earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Texas Tech University before completing her Doctor of Optometry degree at the University of Houston College of Optometry. She is passionate about providing personalized, comprehensive eye care and building meaningful relationships with her patients. She enjoys taking the time to understand each patient’s individual needs and helping them achieve their best vision and eye health. Outside of the office, Dr. Sharma enjoys yoga, painting, traveling, and exploring new foods and restaurants with her husband. She loves discovering new places, experiencing different cultures, and finding great food along the way.

Dr. Sharpe obtained his Doctor of Optometry degree from Pacific University College of Optometry in Forest Grove, Oregon, and his Bachelor of Science from the University of Colorado at Denver and Pacific University. He completed an internship in Denver, specializing in the treatment of eye disease, particularly corneal and retinal conditions. Dr. Sharpe is a member of the Colorado Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association. With more than 35 years of experience in private practice, Dr. Sharpe also served as a Clinical Optometrist and Clinical Director at a major Laser vision correction facility in the Denver metro area. LASIK, PRK, and other refractive surgery treatments remain one of his strong interests. He specializes in specialty contact lens fittings, including those requiring toric, bifocal, rigid, hybrid, and scleral lenses for the treatment of keratoconus and other cornea conditions resulting in abnormal or irregular cornea shape. He has extensive experience in age-related conditions, including dry eye diagnosis and treatment, glaucoma treatment, macular degeneration management, and post-cataract surgery care. Dr. Sharpe has been a resident of Colorado for over 50 years, primarily practicing optometry in the southwest Denver metro area. He enjoys scuba diving, traveling, hiking, mountain biking, carpentry, and spending time with family.

Dr. Shatleh graduated from the University of Houston Honors College with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Minor in Medicine & Society. She went on to receive her Doctorate from the University of Houston College of Optometry, where she received several letters of excellence during her clinical rotations. She was trained with a focus on ocular disease, glaucoma, dry eye, and surgical co-management. Dr. Shatleh has special interests in fitting multifocal contact lenses, refractive surgery co-management (LASIK, PRK, and multifocal cataract lens replacement), and providing essential eye care for children. She also routinely diagnoses and manages acute and chronic eye diseases, including ocular trauma, infection, and retinal disease. Dr. Shatleh was raised in Pearland and graduated from Pearland High School. She loves practicing in the community she grew up in and is proud to be taking care of many people she’s crossed paths with growing up here. When she’s not at the office, she spends her free time with her husband and two young daughters. She enjoys reading and cooking and stays active in her church community.

Dr. Shabnum Sherali earned her Bachelor’s degree in Biology from West Texas A&M University before completing her Doctorate in Optometry at the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in 2024. Outside of her professional work, she enjoys spending quality time with family and friends, traveling, and shopping.

Dr. Sherman earned her B.A. in Chemistry from Arcadia University before completing her Doctor of Optometry degree at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus University. Dedicated to providing comprehensive eye care, Dr. Sherman takes pride in helping her patients achieve their best vision while ensuring everyone feels comfortable and well cared for throughout their visit. Outside the clinic, her favorite place to be is spending quality time with her family.

Optometry School: He is a 2001 graduate of Salus University (formerly the Pennsylvania College of Optometry). Professional Achievements and Associations: Dr. Shields has provided care to his patients in multiple settings before joining MyEyeDr in 2009. He was a Vision Care partner for Walmart Vision Centers in four locations, winning District Doctor of the Year. Additionally, Dr. Shields has worked in private practice, having opened his own practice in 2006 in Annapolis, MD, winning The Capital Gazette’s Top Doctor award. The reason I became an optometrist is: I am passionate about patients and helping them develop solutions that will ultimately enable them to lead better lives. My favorite part of helping my patients is: I enjoy learning about my patient’s visual demands and tailoring custom solutions that help improve their lives. In my spare time, I enjoy: He is passionate about his wife, four children and his St. Bernard and spends most of his free time with his family surfing off his boat on the rivers of the Chesapeake Bay. Annapolis Junior Rowing is another cause which he has passionately devoted his time as Vice President as well as overseeing his children’s rowing careers. He and his family are long time Annapolitans, and members of the St. Mary’s Catholic parish.

Dr. Shiple has been practicing optometry in the South suburbs of Chicago for 28+ years. She completed her undergraduate education at Lewis University before obtaining her Doctorate of Optometry from Illinois College of Optometry in 1996. In her spare time, she loves to spend time outdoors, tend to her garden, and spend time with her family.

My favorite part of helping my patients is: to put a smile on their face. In my spare time, I enjoy: The outdoors (biking, hiking, skiing) traveling and spending time with my family.

The reason I became an optometrist is: To make a difference in every patient's life and help them see all the bright colors of this beautiful world.
