Ronald Mearsha, OD

About Ronald Mearsha, OD

Undergraduate Education: Colorado State University. Optometry School: Pacific University, College of Optometry graduating with honors in 2000. How are you impacting your local community or helping your patients live their best lives? Dr. Mearsha has a special interest in Orthokeratology (OrthoK), which is the science of reshaping the cornea of the eye, without surgery, to improve vision and virtually eliminate the need for daytime contact lenses and glasses. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthokeratology and Myopia Control (IAOMC), actively practices Myopia Control and specializes in difficult-to-fit contact lenses including Scleral and Gas permeable. Dr. Mearsha has a strong interest in developmental optometry and determining how using vision therapy can improve classroom performance for students, as well as increase performance for athletes in a variety of sports. As a member of the College of Optometrists in Vision Development and American Optometric Associations Sports Vision Section he can stay on the leading edge of new and exciting advances in Vision Therapy. Hobbies/Interests: Dr. Mearsha resides in Greeley, and in his spare time he enjoys bicycling, golfing, reading, home projects and family activities with his wife, Susie, and their three wonderful children.

The reason I became an optometrist is: I have always enjoyed helping people. Optometry is also a very social profession that allows me to interact with and learn about so many different people every day which is something I really love. About Ashlin Mikolich, OD

Dr. Ashlin Mikolich earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with a focus on Ecology at Penn State University. After taking a year off to work as an optometric technician, she then went on to earn her Doctor of Optometry at Salus University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where she specialized in primary care, contact lenses, and ocular disease, with a special interest in low vision services. While in school, Dr. Mikolich completed an externship in primary eye care in Mars Hill, which seeded her love for the mountains and western North Carolina. She then completed ocular disease rotations at both the James H. Quillen VA hospital in Johnson City, Tennessee and the Yukon-Kuskokwim hospital in Bethel, Alaska focusing on the native Yupik population. She also completed both a contact lens rotation and low vision rotation in Philadelphia. Dr. Mikolich is a member of the North Carolina Optometric Society, American Optometric Association, and local Mountain District Society of Optometrists where she is current Vice President. She works alongside her husband quarterly to bring eyecare to patients at the Black Mountain Neuro Medical Center. She formerly practiced in the Charlotte metropolitan area and is glad to bring her experience to Asheville. In her free time, you can find her hiking, camping, crafting, reading, or relaxing with her husband, cats, and turtle. Dr. Mikolich is excited to get you started with seeing and feeling your best with new glasses and contacts. She is also excited to bring special care to the practice including low vision and specialty contact services.
