Undergraduate Education: Colorado State University. Optometry School: Pacific University, College of Optometry graduating with honors in 2000. How are you impacting your local community or helping your patients live their best lives? Dr. Mearsha has a special interest in Orthokeratology (OrthoK), which is the science of reshaping the cornea of the eye, without surgery, to improve vision and virtually eliminate the need for daytime contact lenses and glasses. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthokeratology and Myopia Control (IAOMC), actively practices Myopia Control and specializes in difficult-to-fit contact lenses including Scleral and Gas permeable. Dr. Mearsha has a strong interest in developmental optometry and determining how using vision therapy can improve classroom performance for students, as well as increase performance for athletes in a variety of sports. As a member of the College of Optometrists in Vision Development and American Optometric Associations Sports Vision Section he can stay on the leading edge of new and exciting advances in Vision Therapy. Hobbies/Interests: Dr. Mearsha resides in Greeley, and in his spare time he enjoys bicycling, golfing, reading, home projects and family activities with his wife, Susie, and their three wonderful children.

Making sure patients can see their loved ones making their first basketball shot, or first dance recital, or graduating school. How are you helping patients live their best lives? Providing quality vision with glasses and contacts, but also making sure their eye health is at optimal functionality. Hobbies/Interests: Working out, basketball, golf, football, soccer, playing with my dog Tessa, beach days, hiking, aquarist, huge movie and tv nerd.

The reason I became an optometrist is: I have always enjoyed helping people. Being an Optometrist allows me to provide patients with their visual needs and therefore help them do the things they enjoy. This can re-open their world of possibilities and create new adventures. Optometry is also a very social profession that allows me to interact with and learn about so many different people every day which is something I really love. My favorite part of helping my patients is: This is one of the few medical professions that for most of the time, allow us to improve our patients’ lives immediately by giving them the vision correct they need which is very fulfilling. In my spare time, I enjoy: Traveling, hiking, cooking, and serving at my church.

Professional Achievements and Associations: Graduated from Pennsylvania College of Optometry with highest honors; Member of American Optometric Association and Delaware Optometric Association. The reason I became an optometrist is: I wanted to help people in my community. My favorite part of helping my patients is: Helping them see their best to enjoy their lives to the fullest, and better understand their eye health and vision status. In my spare time, I enjoy: Spending time with my family and fixing up my house.

Originally from Paducah, KY. Attended the University of Kentucky, graduated with Honors and obtained a Bachelors of Science degree in Chemistry/Biochemistry. Obtained Doctorate of Optometry from the Southern College of Optometry, where I was the President of the Kentucky Club, Treasurer of the Ocular Disease Club, and member of the Contact Lens Society. I enjoy spending time with my family, going on walks, and reading a good book!

By providing full-scope medical eye exams with individualized eye health and vision education; this includes ocular disease, contact lenses, and diabetic eye care. And ensuring the happiness and satisfaction of all patients. Hobbies/Interests: Reading, anything outside, weightlifting, and spending time with my family.

Undergraduate Education: BA Economics. Optometry School: Indiana University. How are you impacting your local community or helping your patients live their best lives? I helped establish the Noblesville School Vision screening program 30 years ago which has helped hundreds of students who had undiagnosed vision problems. Today, I am providing my patients with the most current therapies available for cataract, glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetic retinopathy. Hobbies/Interests: I enjoy reading, gardening, cooking, and spending time with my grandchildren.

Specialize in primary eye care, contact lenses, ocular emergencies, and pre/post ocular surgery care; The reason I became an optometrist is because as a kid I was influenced by my wonderful optometrist. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family. My favorite part of helping my patients is providing them with enough knowledge so we can work as a team to reach their eye care goals.

Augustana College; Optometry School: Illinois College of Optometry; Associations: Illinois Optometric Association, American Optometric Association, Notary Public Association of Illinois; Dr. Micetich was born and raised in Coal City and lives in the Coal City area with his wife, Dr. Juli Weber Micetich and their three sons: Christian, Julian and Jonah. Dr. Micetich’s emphasis is in contact lenses, refractive surgery management and diagnosis and management of eye diseases. He is involved with the local Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts and is an active member of the Unit #1 Foundation and Greater Grundy County YMCA Board. In his spare time he enjoys running, water sports and vacations with his family.

Dr. Michael graduated from Thomas More College in Crestview Hills, Kentucky with a BA in Biology in 2009. In 2013, she earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from Indiana University School of Optometry. During her optometry studies, Dr. Lang completed externships at the VA Medical Center in Pensacola, Florida and Columbia, South Carolina. Her specialties include contact lenses, ocular disease, and primary care. Dr. Michael is a member of the American Optometric Association and Kentucky Optometric Association.

Undergraduate Education: University of Georgia, Athens. Optometry School: University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Optometry. How are you impacting your local community or helping your patients live their best lives? Personalized caring for his patients, many of whom have diabetes, high blood pressure, cataracts, glaucoma, and include a host of other medical/visual conditions. Hobbies/Interests: Avid outdoorsman who has visited over 100 U.S. national parks and counting! Recently backpacked in Canadian Rockies.

The reason I became an optometrist is: In 5th grade, I kept missing the baseball in the outfield because I couldn't see it clearly. After visiting an Optometrist and getting glasses and contact lenses I became the captain of the team. That's when I decided I wanted to make a positive impact on other people's lives. My favorite part of helping my patients is: Solving their problems, whether it be visual or medical and hopefully giving them a sense that I care for them as an individual. In my spare time, I enjoy: Spending time with my wife and 3 daughters while traveling, going to the beach and golfing.

Professional Associations: Member of the American Optometric Association and Ohio Optometric Association. How are you impacting your local community or helping your patients live their best lives? I believe sight is vital to everyday activities. I know from firsthand experience, having started wearing glasses in the third grade, how important having an annual eye exam and updated glasses and contact lenses truly are. I strive to always provide patients with the best vision correction so they can enjoy life through the clearest lens possible. Hobbies/Interests: Traveling, arts and crafts, and spending time with family and friends.

Dr. Ashlin Mikolich earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with a focus on Ecology at Penn State University. After taking a year off to work as an optometric technician, she then went on to earn her Doctor of Optometry at Salus University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where she specialized in primary care, contact lenses, and ocular disease, with a special interest in low vision services. While in school, Dr. Mikolich completed an externship in primary eye care in Mars Hill, which seeded her love for the mountains and western North Carolina. She then completed ocular disease rotations at both the James H. Quillen VA hospital in Johnson City, Tennessee and the Yukon-Kuskokwim hospital in Bethel, Alaska focusing on the native Yupik population. She also completed both a contact lens rotation and low vision rotation in Philadelphia. Dr. Mikolich is a member of the North Carolina Optometric Society, American Optometric Association, and local Mountain District Society of Optometrists where she is current Vice President. She works alongside her husband quarterly to bring eyecare to patients at the Black Mountain Neuro Medical Center. She formerly practiced in the Charlotte metropolitan area and is glad to bring her experience to Asheville. In her free time, you can find her hiking, camping, crafting, reading, or relaxing with her husband, cats, and turtle. Dr. Mikolich is excited to get you started with seeing and feeling your best with new glasses and contacts. She is also excited to bring special care to the practice including low vision and specialty contact services.

Clinical Certifications and Specialties: Complicated contact lens fitting, including keratoconus, and multifocal. The reason I became an optometrist is: This is my 46th year of helping people see clearly and comfortably. My favorite part of helping my patients is: Explaining what I did and how it will change their lives for the better. In my spare time, I enjoy: Exercise and golf.
