Originally from Massachusetts, he received her degree in optometry from New England College of Optometry in 1987 after completing her undergraduate degree in biology at Merrimack College in 1983. She met her husband Tim in optometry school, and they married in 1987. After working for Leahey Eye Clinic in Lowell, MA, she and her husband, Tim, purchased a practice from a retiring optometrist in Concord, NH. Clinical specialties include: diabetic eye exams, glaucoma management, ocular disease management, and contact lens fittings. In her leisure time, she enjoys reading, running, painting, cooking, and traveling, especially to New York to visit her daughter and family.

Charles Hollander, OD

About Charles Hollander, OD

Dr. Charles Hollander graduated with honors in 1980 from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry. . He is a fellow in the American Academy of Optometry and is certified by the New York State Optometric Association to provide low vision services. Dr. Hollander is licensed in the therapeutic treatment of glaucoma, external eye diseases, and oral therapeutic medications in the State of New York. Dr. Hollander held the title for 15 years as an associate and clinical instructor in the Department of Ophthalmology at New York Hospital-Cornell Medical School. He has devoted his career to working with children and adults who are visually impaired and difficult and unusual contact lens cases. He was an adjunct professor at Columbia University Teachers College where he instructed teachers who were receiving their master’s degree in teaching children who are visually impaired. Currently he is the Optometric consultant at the New York Institute for Special Education He has lectured extensively in low vision rehabilitation and co-authored a chapter in the textbook “The Essentials of Low Vision Care”. He currently resides in New York City with his wife of 44 years. He has 3 children and loves to spend time with his grandchildren.

Dr. Holtzman matriculated at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for undergraduate studies, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Biology in May 1988. Thereafter, he attended Southern College of Optometry, receiving his Doctor of Optometry in 1992. Since that time, he gained 27 years of experience in the field as a practicing optometrist, including building, running, and selling his own private practice in the Denver market, culminating in 2018 when he began work at Optical Masters. Dr. Houtkin is originally from New Jersey and completed his undergraduate studies at Temple University in Philadelphia. He received his Doctor of Optometry Degree from Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago and went to San Antonio to fulfill a commitment with the Air Force. He is licensed as a Therapeutic Optometrist and Optometric Glaucoma Specialist. He is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Texas Optometric Association and is Board Certified with the American Board of Clinical Optometry. Dr. Houtkin is married to Deborah and they have four children and five grandchildren. He enjoys family gatherings, gardening and working with native Xeriscape plants. He has played accordion and trumpet from a very young age. Having spent over thirty years living in San Antonio, Dr. and Mrs. Houtkin are excited to be living here with the wonderful people of College Station. He is looking forward to many years of caring for their vision in a warm, friendly atmosphere.

Dr. Andy received his undergraduate degree with honors from Virginia Tech. He earned his Doctor of Optometry from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, also with honors. He has spent most of his 25-plus year career helping thousands of patients live a healthy visual lifestyle. With the help of his wife, Dr. Elizabeth Howard, their clinic was named one of America’s Finest Optical Retailers by INVISION Magazine. The clinic also placed in Review of Optometry’s Office Design Contest. Dr. Andy enjoys spending time with his wife and their two children, Rachel and Joseph.
