Dr. Cheriachangel—or Dr. Cheri, as she's known to her patients—earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from the New England College of Optometry in Boston after completing her undergraduate studies at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Before becoming a licensed optometrist, Dr. Cheri spent nearly a decade working in non-doctor roles in the optometry field, gaining valuable experience that shaped her approach to patient care. During her final clinical rotation at the West Philadelphia VA Medical Center, she received honors for her patient rapport and clinical skills, and developed a strong connection to the Philadelphia area. I often say I cannot do a person's work for them, but I can make it easier for them to do their work by meeting their individual visual needs. What does providing a transformational eyecare experience mean to you? A transformational eyecare experience happens when a person's quality of life is improved by what we prescribe and recommend, and then they refer people to us and come back year after year. How are you impacting your local community? Not only do I help with patients' visual needs, but I have seen many of these people for years, and we become like family. Sometimes I am just a listening ear. Hobbies/Interests: I love traveling and experiencing wine. I enjoy watching baseball, especially when it involves my kids.

He earned his Bachelor's of Science in Vision Science and Doctor of Optometry degrees from The Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus University in Philadelphia. Dr. Christianson’s training included multiple site externships including a rotation at a VA hospital in New Jersey and The Eye Institute in Philadelphia. Therefore, I chose to become an optometrist. My favorite part of helping my patients is: The “that’s amazing” expression that lights up a patient face when they see better brings me joy. Seeing this expression daily is rewarding. These are the reasons I love being an optometrist because I get to improve the lives of people every day by helping them see. Dr. Coffey founded Coffey Eye Care in 1992 and expanded the practice notably until partnering with MyEyeDr in 2020. She resides in Quincy and is a Dorchester native who attended Msgr. Ryan Memorial High School. She is a proud member of OFD and is a history buff and loves traveling. Besides maintaining her own practice she previously held appointments as adjunct faculty at the New England College of Optometry and staff optometrist at the Mass. Eye and Ear Infirmary. She is a past president of the Massachusetts Society of Optometrists. Currently she serves on the Board of Trustees of the New England College of Optometry. Dr. Coffey sees patients of all ages with a special interest in contact lenses. She believes in patient education as a foundation to patient care (ask as many questions as you wish!).
