Dr. Benjamin Warta completed his bachelor’s degree in Biology and Life Sciences at Kansas State University and received his Optometric Physician degree from NSUCO in Oklahoma. Dr. Warta was a member of the honor society Beta Sigma Kappa while completing his education and received the Phieffer Award as the top graduating clinician. He also has received honors for excellent clinical skill in contact lens fitting and for research in pediatrics and vision therapy. Dr. Warta is Board Certified by the American Board of Optometry. Dr. Warta feels it is important that he gets to know each patient so that he can custom design glasses, contact lens, and/or surgical options for each patient’s needs. Dr. Warta’s expertise includes specialty contact lens fitting; LASIK and refractive therapies; eye disease; high altitude dry eye therapy, children’s vision, and sports vision. Dr. Warta and his wife Erin enjoy traveling, skiing, and biking with their two children.

Clinical Certifications and Specialties: Specialties in Anterior Segment Disease and in Contact Lens Specialty fitting. The reason I became an optometrist is: I was inspired by my hometown optometrist. He was a great eye doctor who loved his patients and the profession. My favorite part of helping my patients is: solving their vision issues and bringing a smile to their face. In my spare time, I enjoy: golfing, indoor rowing, and spending time with my family.

Dr. Watson studied Chemistry at the University of Kentucky for 3 years before gaining early acceptance into optometry school in Memphis, TN. While in school she trained at Bennett and Bloom Eye Centers based in Louisville, KY and the Eye Care Center - a group of private practices based in Richmond, KY. She graduated with her doctorate degree from the Southern College of Optometry in spring of 2017. Dr. Watson's interests include spending time with her church family and cheering on the CATS with her husband, Steven.

It means going above and beyond patient expectations and providing service, healthcare and products they did not know before. How are you impacting your local community? I founded a local program in Klein ISD along with Essilor Vision Foundation to provide free exams and glasses to title 1 school. Undergraduate Education: I graduated from Albright College in 2013 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and Biology. Optometry School: I received my Doctor of Optometry degree with honors from Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus University in 2017. Professional Achievements and Associations: I am currently a member of the Pennsylvania Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association. I am also a member Beta Sigma Kappa, the International Optometric Honor Society and Psi Chi, the International Honor Society in Psychology. Clinical Certifications and Specialties: I have a special interest in detecting and treating dry eye disease. Dry eye disease is a multifactorial disease that is caused by many different things. Today we have lots of new technology which aids in the treatment and management of dry eye disease. I strive to make all my dry eye patients as comfortable and happy as I can. The reason I became an optometrist is: My father and grandfather were both successful optometrists. From the time I was in middle school I worked in my father’s office, and I continued working there until I left for Albright College. It was during these formative years that I developed a passion for optometry and vision care. My favorite part of helping my patients is: As an optometrist I enjoy helping patients in any way that I can, whether that be treating eye diseases, providing eyeglasses or contact lenses, educating patients on their ocular condition, helping patients with their visual needs both at home and at work, or just answering questions that patients may have about their eyes. In my spare time, I enjoy: In my spare time I enjoy playing with my dogs Hamilton and Winry, playing golf with my father, reading, working on puzzles, and spending quality time with my husband.

Ensuring that every patient knows that their visual needs, health, and wellness are our top priority. How are you impacting your local community? My family and I routinely volunteer and donate to local charitable organizations, like the Brevard Backpack Project and XL106.7's Baby DJ toy drive. Ensuring the happiness and satisfaction of all patients. Hobbies/Interests: My hobbies include cooking/baking, traveling, knitting, and taking advantage of the outdoor activities our area has to offer.

The reason I became an optometrist is: I was always interested in medicine as I come from a family involved in all aspects of the medical field. When I was in college, I originally planned on going into research but realized I enjoyed the personal aspect of patient care. Optometry combines my interest in science and vision with the enjoyment of helping new people every day. My favorite part of helping my patients is: My favorite part of the patient experience is sharing my knowledge of how the eye allows us to see the world around us. In my spare time, I enjoy: In my spare time I enjoy watching live music, going hiking and camping, and spending time with my family.

The reason I became an optometrist is: Improve patients’ lives by giving them the best vision and eye health. My favorite part of helping my patients is: Giving a child their first pair of glasses and then hearing how much it helped improve their school performance. In my spare time, I enjoy: Golf, watching my daughter play tennis and spending time with my family, dog, and cats.
