Undergraduate Education: Georgia Southern University BS. Optometry School: Southern College Of Optometry; 1977. Professional Achievements and Associations: Member of The Georgia Optometric Association, The American Optometric Association, Omega Delta Optometric Fraternity. Clinical Certifications and Specialties: Specialties in Anterior Segment Disease and in Contact Lens Specialty fitting. The reason I became an optometrist is: I was inspired by my hometown optometrist. He was a great eye doctor who loved his patients and the profession. My favorite part of helping my patients is: solving their vision issues and bringing a smile to their face. In my spare time, I enjoy: golfing, indoor rowing, and spending time with my family.

Dr. Watson studied Chemistry at the University of Kentucky for 3 years before gaining early acceptance into optometry school in Memphis, TN. While in school she trained at Bennett and Bloom Eye Centers based in Louisville, KY and the Eye Care Center - a group of private practices based in Richmond, KY. She graduated with her doctorate degree from the Southern College of Optometry in spring of 2017. Dr. Watson's interests include spending time with her church family and cheering on the CATS with her husband, Steven.

The fact that I am able to improve, repair and sometimes save the most critical human sense of sight. How are you helping patients live their best lives? By providing competent, convenient, comfortable, cutting-edge eye care and vision solutions for people of all walks and hobbies. What does providing a transformational eyecare experience mean to you? It means going above and beyond patient expectations and providing service, healthcare and products they did not know before. How are you impacting your local community? I founded a local program in Klein ISD along with Essilor Vision Foundation to provide free exams and glasses to title 1 school. Hobbies/Interests: Hunting, Fishing, Target/Skeet Shooting, Skiing, Reading, Church (Faithbridge), Mission Work

Undergraduate Education: I graduated from Albright College in 2013 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and Biology. Optometry School: I received my Doctor of Optometry degree with honors from Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus University in 2017. Professional Achievements and Associations: I am currently a member of the Pennsylvania Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association. I am also a member Beta Sigma Kappa, the International Optometric Honor Society and Psi Chi, the International Honor Society in Psychology. Clinical Certifications and Specialties: I have a special interest in detecting and treating dry eye disease. Dry eye disease is a multifactorial disease that is caused by many different things. Today we have lots of new technology which aids in the treatment and management of dry eye disease. I strive to make all my dry eye patients as comfortable and happy as I can. The reason I became an optometrist is: My father and grandfather were both successful optometrists. From the time I was in middle school I worked in my father’s office, and I continued working there until I left for Albright College. It was during these formative years that I developed a passion for optometry and vision care. My favorite part of helping my patients is: As an optometrist I enjoy helping patients in any way that I can, whether that be treating eye diseases, providing eyeglasses or contact lenses, educating patients on their ocular condition, helping patients with their visual needs both at home and at work, or just answering questions that patients may have about their eyes. In my spare time, I enjoy: In my spare time I enjoy playing with my dogs Hamilton and Winry, playing golf with my father, reading, working on puzzles, and spending quality time with my husband.

Received a fellowship from the American Academy of Optometry. Clinical Certifications & Specialties: Enjoy all aspects of optometry with a main interest in pediatrics (particularly myopia control) and ocular disease. Hobbies/Interests: Spending time outdoors with my family, fiancé, and dog.

I enjoy giving patients a relaxed, friendly exam experience while teaching them easy and effective ways to keep their eyes happy and healthy. How are you helping patients live their best lives? By giving them professional eye care in a warm and friendly environment. What does providing a transformational eyecare experience mean to you? Ensuring that every patient knows that their visual needs, health, and wellness are our top priority. How are you impacting your local community? My family and I routinely volunteer and donate to local charitable organizations, like the Brevard Backpack Project and XL106.7's Baby DJ toy drive. Hobbies/Interests: Painting, science fiction conventions, running in races with my wife, cooking, and reading

The reason I became an optometrist is: to help keep healthy eyes healthy. My favorite part of helping my patients is: talking with them and educating them. In my spare time, I enjoy: attending sporting events and concerts.

Fellow, American Academy of Optometry. Certificate in Pediatric Optometry, Illinois College of Optometry, 1977. Dr. Caren Weisz has practiced optometry for 45 years, and served the Joliet community for over 35 years. She cares for all ages, with specialized care for children, learning problems, and computer eyestrain. State-of-the-art contact lenses are on hand for the most comfortable and best vision attainable. Glasses of the highest quality are available as needed for the aging population, as are instruments to diagnose and monitor for ocular disease. Dr. Weisz especially enjoys seeing patients bringing their children in, recalling their positive experiences doing the same when they were young. She especially enjoys the gratitude of so many, many patients coming to her for years, expressing joy in the many years of care that allowed them to see so well. Dr. Weisz continues to accept new patients, and help those in need of good, healthy, comfortable vision. Dr. Weisz’s hobbies primarily relate to family and health. She has 4 children and 10 grandchildren. Keeping everyone healthy and happy and working to their potential is her primary concern!

My passion for eye care comes from my desire to help people see their best and maintain healthy eyes/vision through their lives. How are you helping patients live their best lives? I do my best to treat every patient the way I would want to be treated and to help them achieve their vision needs. What does providing a transformational eyecare experience mean to you? Ensuring the happiness and satisfaction of all patients. Hobbies/Interests: My hobbies include cooking/baking, traveling, knitting, and taking advantage of the outdoor activities our area has to offer.

The reason I became an optometrist is: I was always interested in medicine as I come from a family involved in all aspects of the medical field. When I was in college, I originally planned on going into research but realized I enjoyed the personal aspect of patient care. Optometry combines my interest in science and vision with the enjoyment of helping new people every day. My favorite part of helping my patients is: My favorite part of the patient experience is sharing my knowledge of how the eye allows us to see the world around us. In my spare time, I enjoy: In my spare time I enjoy watching live music, going hiking and camping, and spending time with my family.

In my spare time, I enjoy my grandchildren, being a sports fan, traveling, hiking, and cycling. My favorite part of helping my patients is knowing they understand their condition/disease/vision better after their visit than before.

The reason I became an optometrist is: Improve patients’ lives by giving them the best vision and eye health. My favorite part of helping my patients is: Giving a child their first pair of glasses and then hearing how much it helped improve their school performance. In my spare time, I enjoy: Golf, watching my daughter play tennis and spending time with my family, dog, and cats.

I impact the community and help patients live their best lives by providing comprehensive eye exams for adults and children, diabetic eye exams, contact lens fitting, and ocular disease management. In my free time I enjoy cars, motorcycling, hunting, target shooting, and spending time with my family.

With over 20 years of experience in eye care, I have had the privilege of serving the Weston community and building lasting relationships with my patients. It’s truly rewarding to care for individuals I first met as children and now see their own kids. I take pride in the personal connections I’ve formed, which have encouraged many to continue their eyecare journey with me, even after moving away. Nothing is more fulfilling than knowing I’ve positively impacted their lives. Hobbies/Interests: I enjoy traveling, attending music concerts, cooking, learning about history, and reading novels.
