Our Doctors

Dr. Sharpe obtained his Doctor of Optometry degree from Pacific University College of Optometry in Forest Grove, Oregon, and his Bachelor of Science from the University of Colorado at Denver and Pacific University. He completed an internship in Denver, specializing in the treatment of eye disease, particularly corneal and retinal conditions. Dr. Sharpe is a member of the Colorado Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association. With more than 35 years of experience in private practice, Dr. Sharpe also served as a Clinical Optometrist and Clinical Director at a major Laser vision correction facility in the Denver metro area. LASIK, PRK, and other refractive surgery treatments remain one of his strong interests. He specializes in specialty contact lens fittings, including those requiring toric, bifocal, rigid, hybrid, and scleral lenses for the treatment of keratoconus and other cornea conditions resulting in abnormal or irregular cornea shape. He has extensive experience in age-related conditions, including dry eye diagnosis and treatment, glaucoma treatment, macular degeneration management, and post-cataract surgery care. Dr. Sharpe has been a resident of Colorado for over 50 years, primarily practicing optometry in the southwest Denver metro area. He enjoys scuba diving, traveling, hiking, mountain biking, carpentry, and spending time with family.

Dr. Shatleh graduated from the University of Houston Honors College with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Minor in Medicine & Society. She went on to receive her Doctorate from the University of Houston College of Optometry, where she received several letters of excellence during her clinical rotations. She was trained with a focus on ocular disease, glaucoma, dry eye, and surgical co-management. Dr. Shatleh has special interests in fitting multifocal contact lenses, refractive surgery co-management (LASIK, PRK, and multifocal cataract lens replacement), and providing essential eye care for children. She also routinely diagnoses and manages acute and chronic eye diseases, including ocular trauma, infection, and retinal disease. Dr. Shatleh was raised in Pearland and graduated from Pearland High School. She loves practicing in the community she grew up in and is proud to be taking care of many people she’s crossed paths with growing up here. When she’s not at the office, she spends her free time with her husband and two young daughters. She enjoys reading and cooking and stays active in her church community.

Dr. Shabnum Sherali earned her Bachelor’s degree in Biology from West Texas A&M University before completing her Doctorate in Optometry at the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in 2024. Outside of her professional work, she enjoys spending quality time with family and friends, traveling, and shopping.

Undergraduate Education: Whittier College BA Biology 1997; PCO BS Vision Science 1998; PCO Doctor of Optometry 2001. Optometry School: He is a 2001 graduate of Salus University (formerly the Pennsylvania College of Optometry). Professional Achievements and Associations: Dr. Shields has provided care to his patients in multiple settings before joining MyEyeDr in 2009. He was a Vision Care partner for Walmart Vision Centers in four locations, winning District Doctor of the Year. Additionally, Dr. Shields has worked in private practice, having opened his own practice in 2006 in Annapolis, MD, winning The Capital Gazette’s Top Doctor award. The reason I became an optometrist is: I am passionate about patients and helping them develop solutions that will ultimately enable them to lead better lives. My favorite part of helping my patients is: I enjoy learning about my patient’s visual demands and tailoring custom solutions that help improve their lives. In my spare time, I enjoy: He is passionate about his wife, four children and his St. Bernard and spends most of his free time with his family surfing off his boat on the rivers of the Chesapeake Bay. Annapolis Junior Rowing is another cause which he has passionately devoted his time as Vice President as well as overseeing his children’s rowing careers. He and his family are long time Annapolitans, and members of the St. Mary’s Catholic parish.

Dr. Shiple has been practicing optometry in the South suburbs of Chicago for 28+ years. She completed her undergraduate education at Lewis University before obtaining her Doctorate of Optometry from Illinois College of Optometry in 1996. In her spare time, she loves to spend time outdoors, tend to her garden, and spend time with her family.

Clinical Certifications and Specialties: Geriatric/ Primary Care Residency. The reason I became an optometrist is: To help people see after seeing my grandfather lose his vision due to Glaucoma. My favorite part of helping my patients is: to put a smile on their face. In my spare time, I enjoy: The outdoors (biking, hiking, skiing) traveling and spending time with my family.

Clinical Certifications and Specialties: Certified in Orthokeratology. The reason I became an optometrist is: To make a difference in every patient's life and help them see all the bright colors of this beautiful world. My favorite part of helping my patients is: seeing their faces light up when they can see clearly again. In my spare time, I enjoy: Spending time with my family and travelling.

Undergraduate Education: I completed my undergraduate studies at George Mason University, where I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry, along with a minor in Computational Data Sciences. Optometry School: I am a graduate of the Pennsylvania College of Optometry, now under Drexel University, where I received my Doctor of Optometry degree in May 2024. Certifications/Awards: During my time at PCO, I completed the Advanced Studies program in Contact Lenses, graduated summa cum laude, and received the Crozier Memorial award for studies in anatomy and pathology. Hobbies/Interests: During my free time, I enjoy travelling, exploring new places, and learning new skills.

Bachelors of Science from University of Houston with Magna Cum Laude Honors Doctor of Optometry from Midwestern University When I was in middle school, an Optometrist completely changed my world with an eye exam. After getting appropriate correction, I went from a barely passing student to an honor roll student. My confidence soared and I truly believed there was no obstacle I couldn’t conquer. I became an Eye doctor so I could make a similar difference in someone’s life.

Hobbies/Interest: Running and spending time with Husband, my son, and my golden retriever.

Dr. Terry P. Silke received his doctorate of optometry degree from Indiana School of Optometry in 1969. He served two years of active duty in the US Army, including a tour in Vietnam from 1970-1971 at an evacuation hospital. Upon completing his active duty tour, he continued to serve in the army reserve until retiring in 1996 as a LT Colonel. In 1972, Dr. Silke spent one year as a clinical associate instructor at the IU School of Optometry. He then received a 25 year recognition certificate from The American Optometric Association.
