By educating patients on best eye health practices- sun protection, harmful blue light, contact lens care and hygiene, nutrition for eye health – we support a well informed and proactive community! Through comprehensive yearly eye health assessments, we ensure our patients are equipped with clear vision and healthy, comfortable eyes that will support them through their day-to-day endeavors. Hobbies/Interests: Anything outdoors, cooking, traveling, reading, painting, and spending time with my husband and kids!

Undergraduate Education: Bachelor of Science from Purdue University, majoring in Biology and minoring in Spanish. Optometry School: Illinois College of Optometry, 2009. Professional Achievements and Associations: Indiana Optometric Association, American Optometric Association. Clinical Certifications and Specialties: Primary care, dry eye treatment, computer vision syndrome. The reason I became an optometrist is: I was interested in healthcare from a young age as I knew I wanted to be in a field that makes an impact and difference on others. I was fortunate enough to not need any vision correction while growing up but had many family members who either wore glasses or suffered from eye conditions (Glaucoma, etc.). I came to realize that the field of optometry is so fascinating in that I would get to care for not only patients' vision needs (glasses and contacts), but also help with their healthcare needs. I am lucky to work in a field with ever changing technology that allows me to provide this comprehensive care to patients each day. My favorite part of helping my patients is: I am fortunate to work in the area I grew up (graduated from Franklin Central High School), so it's been a humbling experience to impact the community I know and love. Forming trusting relationships with my patients and their families by helping them see and feel better is so rewarding each day. In my spare time, I enjoy: Traveling, live theater, playing tennis, Cubs baseball, shoe shopping, and exploring parks and museums with my husband and kids (Keenan and Nahla). I also love a good book, a cup of coffee, and binge-watching Netflix!

Clinical Certifications and Specialties: Advanced Studies in Contact Lens Certification; Professional Practice Honors Recognition in all 4th year Rotations. The reason I became an optometrist is: because I'm near-sighted myself, so from an early age I knew the importance of having my eyes checked regularly. My favorite part of helping my patients is: using my skills and knowledge to explain how their eyes are doing vision and health wise in a way that is easy for them to understand :) In my spare time, I enjoy: Spending time with my husband and my husky, Czar. I also enjoy traveling and finding the best pizza spots!

Certifications/Awards: Ocular Disease Residency training at Seidenberg Protzko Eye Associates in Havre de Grace, Maryland. How are you impacting your local community or helping your patients live their best lives? I am in such a rewarding career, and I want to ensure every patient gets the best outcome for both their visual and ocular health. Hobbies/Interests: traveling, photography, playing tennis, and spending time with friends and family.

Undergraduate Education: Abilene Christian University 1992. Optometry School: Southern College of Optometry 1998. How are you impacting your local community or helping your patients live their best lives? I love being a part of this community and helping it to see better. The smile and satisfaction when I can help someone is very rewarding. Hobbies/Interests: I love to watch football and cheer on the Cowboys and the Crimson Tide with my son Cullen, I love to go to the movies with my daughter Sara Jane, and love traveling with my wife Erin. One of my favorites is to watch Cullen do what he loves, which is to compete on the basketball court.

Dr. Shatleh graduated from the University of Houston Honors College with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Minor in Medicine & Society. She went on to receive her Doctorate from the University of Houston College of Optometry, where she received several letters of excellence during her clinical rotations. She was trained with a focus on ocular disease, glaucoma, dry eye, and surgical co-management. Dr. Shatleh has special interests in fitting multifocal contact lenses, refractive surgery co-management (LASIK, PRK, and multifocal cataract lens replacement), and providing essential eye care for children. She also routinely diagnoses and manages acute and chronic eye diseases, including ocular trauma, infection, and retinal disease. Dr. Shatleh was raised in Pearland and graduated from Pearland High School. She loves practicing in the community she grew up in and is proud to be taking care of many people she’s crossed paths with growing up here. When she’s not at the office, she spends her free time with her husband and two young daughters. She enjoys reading and cooking and stays active in her church community.

Specializing in hard to fit contact lens cases, keratoconus, and dry eyes. Hobbies/Interests: Wine, travel, fitness and family…not always in that order!

Dr. Shabnum Sherali earned her Bachelor’s degree in Biology from West Texas A&M University before completing her Doctorate in Optometry at the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in 2024. Outside of her professional work, she enjoys spending quality time with family and friends, traveling, and shopping.

Ensuring the happiness and satisfaction of all patients. How are you impacting your local community? I'm a big believer in anonymous acts of kindness! Undergraduate Education: Whittier College BA Biology 1997; PCO BS Vision Science 1998; PCO Doctor of Optometry 2001. Optometry School: He is a 2001 graduate of Salus University (formerly the Pennsylvania College of Optometry). Professional Achievements and Associations: Dr. Shields has provided care to his patients in multiple settings before joining MyEyeDr in 2009. He was a Vision Care partner for Walmart Vision Centers in four locations, winning District Doctor of the Year. Additionally, Dr. Shields has worked in private practice, having opened his own practice in 2006 in Annapolis, MD, winning The Capital Gazette’s Top Doctor award. The reason I became an optometrist is: I am passionate about patients and helping them develop solutions that will ultimately enable them to lead better lives. My favorite part of helping my patients is: I enjoy learning about my patient’s visual demands and tailoring custom solutions that help improve their lives. In my spare time, I enjoy: He is passionate about his wife, four children and his St. Bernard and spends most of his free time with his family surfing off his boat on the rivers of the Chesapeake Bay. Annapolis Junior Rowing is another cause which he has passionately devoted his time as Vice President as well as overseeing his children’s rowing careers. He and his family are long time Annapolitans, and members of the St. Mary’s Catholic parish.

Dr. Shiple has been practicing optometry in the South suburbs of Chicago for 28+ years. She completed her undergraduate education at Lewis University before obtaining her Doctorate of Optometry from Illinois College of Optometry in 1996. In her spare time, she loves to spend time outdoors, tend to her garden, and spend time with her family.

Clinical Certifications and Specialties: Geriatric/ Primary Care Residency. The reason I became an optometrist is: To help people see after seeing my grandfather lose his vision due to Glaucoma. My favorite part of helping my patients is: to put a smile on their face. In my spare time, I enjoy: The outdoors (biking, hiking, skiing) traveling and spending time with my family.

Undergraduate Education: Bachelor's Degree in Biology from Towson University. Optometry School: Western University of Health Sciences, Class of 2015. Clinical Certifications and Specialties: Certified in Orthokeratology. The reason I became an optometrist is: To make a difference in every patient's life and help them see all the bright colors of this beautiful world. My favorite part of helping my patients is: seeing their faces light up when they can see clearly again. In my spare time, I enjoy: Spending time with my family and travelling.

Undergraduate Education: I completed my undergraduate studies at George Mason University, where I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry, along with a minor in Computational Data Sciences. Optometry School: I am a graduate of the Pennsylvania College of Optometry, now under Drexel University, where I received my Doctor of Optometry degree in May 2024. Certifications/Awards: During my time at PCO, I completed the Advanced Studies program in Contact Lenses, graduated summa cum laude, and received the Crozier Memorial award for studies in anatomy and pathology. Hobbies/Interests: During my free time, I enjoy travelling, exploring new places, and learning new skills.

Bachelors of Science from University of Houston with Magna Cum Laude Honors Doctor of Optometry from Midwestern University When I was in middle school, an Optometrist completely changed my world with an eye exam. After getting appropriate correction, I went from a barely passing student to an honor roll student. My confidence soared and I truly believed there was no obstacle I couldn’t conquer. I became an Eye doctor so I could make a similar difference in someone’s life.

Undergraduate education: Freed-Hardeman University. Optometry School: University of Missouri - St. Louis College of Optometry. How are you impacting your local community or helping patients live their best lives? By providing comprehensive eye exams for adults and children, diabetic eye exams, contact lens fittings, binocular visual dysfunctions, and ocular disease management. Hobbies/Interest: Running and spending time with Husband, my son, and my golden retriever.
