The reason I became an optometrist is: My passion for optometry began with a lifelong interest in healthcare and medical science, and it was further shaped by my own personal journey with vision problems. Through that experience, I came to truly appreciate how vital Vision is—it is, in many ways, our most important sense. I was drawn to optometry as a career that is both deeply rewarding and offers a meaningful balance between professional fulfillment and flexibility. The most rewarding part of my work is helping patients improve their vision and quality of life. There is nothing more fulfilling than sharing the gift of sight and enabling others to create vivid memories they can cherish forever. Outside of the office, I enjoy spending quality time with my family.

Dr. Rikti Patel is a licensed optometrist who performs comprehensive eye exams and closely evaluates patients’ eye health for any ocular diseases such as diabetic retinopathy. She was born in India and moved to the US when she was 9 years old. She attended the University of Georgia, where she graduated with a dual degree in Biology and Psychology. She then earned a Doctor of Optometry degree at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where she completed externships at the VA clinic in Tuscaloosa, AL, with a focus on ocular disease. She also completed externships in Houston, TX, which focused on all aspects of ocular disease, including cataracts, glaucoma, and dry eye. ​She has been practicing for 15 years, and she is a passionate eye doctor who finds her profession to be rewarding. Dr. Rikti Patel has a beautiful family with two children and is a local to the Buford area. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, music, and zumba.

Dr. Ruby Patel received her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from University of Houston and a Doctorate of Optometry degree from Illinois College of Optometry. Dr. Patel completed her clinical rotations with a focus on primary eye care and ocular disease at Palo Alto VAMC in Palo Alto, CA and at Franklin D Roosevelt VAMC in Montrose, NY. Dr. Patel specializes in family eye care including pediatrics, diabetic eye exams, fitting contact lenses for adults and children, dry eye management, binocular vision problems, as well as diagnosing and treating various eye conditions and diseases. Dr. Patel is a licensed Therapeutic Optometrist and an Optometric Glaucoma Specialist. Dr. Patel has been practicing in Katy, TX for over a decade and it is now her hometown. She enjoys volunteering, traveling, and spending quality time with her family and friends.

I take great pride in building meaningful connections with my patients and understanding their unique needs and goals. Each interaction presents an opportunity to problem-solve and deliver personalized solutions—an aspect of my work that I find deeply rewarding. Knowing that I can make a positive impact in someone’s life is both humbling and fulfilling, and it continues to inspire my dedication to this profession. The reason I became an optometrist is: I have known since a young age when I first got glasses the instant satisfaction of helping people improve their vision reminds me of how seeing clearly for the first time changed my view of the world. My favorite part of helping my patients is: My favorite part of helping my patients is the reaction an individual has when they receive their first pair of glasses, and they realize what they were missing around them. By providing personalized comprehensive eye exams for adults and children of all ages, contact lens fitting, diabetic eye exams, and managing dry eye disease. Hobbies/Interests: Baking, watching football, hiking.

Dr. Shivani Patel is a graduate of the Illinois College of Optometry. She’s grateful to able to provide comprehensive eye exams to people of all ages and backgrounds, including disabilities. An avid tennis fan, Dr. Patel also enjoys cooking and trying new restaurants in Chicago.

I want my patients to know they will be treated like family as I provide compassionate care for their visual needs! Hobbies/Interests: I enjoy attending classes at Orange Theory Fitness, trying out new restaurants in Chicago, and am always looking for book recommendations!

Hobbies & Interests: Outside of the clinic, I enjoy staying active through fitness, watching movies and TV, and cheering on Detroit and Michigan sports teams. Most importantly, I love spending quality time with my wife and two children.

By providing comprehensive eye exams for the community to maximize their vision tailored to their specific needs while also managing their ocular health. Hobbies/Interests: I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. My hobbies include mixed martial arts and swimming.

Dr. Adelphy Payero earned her Bachelor’s in Biology from Temple University and a Bachelor’s in Vision Science from Nova Southeastern University, where she also completed her Doctorate of Optometry. During her training, Dr. Payero gained extensive clinical experience in pediatrics, contact lens fitting, and post-surgical cataract management. She furthered her expertise by pursuing a residency at the Audie Murphy VA Hospital in San Antonio, Texas, specializing in Ocular Disease and Neuro-Rehabilitation, working primarily with brain-injury patients. Outside the office, she loves getting lost in a good book, running outdoors, and exploring local coffee shops!
