The reason I became an optometrist is: I was originally a pre-vet major, but when my dog passed away, I decided to pursue a healthcare field that was more upbeat and where I could help people in a clean and happy environment. I was sitting in my advisor's office in college trying to figure out what I wanted to do, and my contact lens fell out. She said, "Have you ever considered optometry?" So, I researched it, worked in an OD office one summer during school, and knew that it was the right career for me. My favorite part of helping my patients is: Knowing that I play an important role in their everyday life by providing them with vision solutions to help them at work, at home and at play.
