Dr. Jonathan Tran attended UT Austin and the University Of Houston where he earned his B.S. in Biology and Business Administration as well as his Doctor of Optometry Degree. Board Certified in the Management and Treatment of various eye diseases such as Cataracts, Glaucoma, and Macular Degeneration, Dr. Tran gained valuable clinical experience while at Northeastern State University College of Optometry in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. He began working for Texas State Optical, over 10 years ago as a Doctor’s Assistant and has been working as a Doctor with TSO over 3 years. While working as a Doctor’s Assistant he felt he had a real connection with the patients and their vision matters. “As a Doctor’s Assistant, I learned that my personality made assisting and educating patients an easy career choice. Listening to and understanding patients issues helps me assist and educate the patient. Personalized in-depth care is what I strive for.” Dr. Tran states. His professional interests include, advancing the profession of Optometry by maintaining up to date, continual education and learning the most advanced and successful standards of patient care. Giving back to the community is important to Dr. Tran. He trained with the Good Neighbor Clinic in Houston providing Comprehensive Eye Exams to all age groups and gave exams in Spanish. Dr. Tran also speaks English and Vietnamese fluently! Jonathan also worked with Prevent Blindness Texas to carry out vision screenings to the underprivileged. Aurora, Colorado is where Dr. Tran is originally from. His family as well as Dr. Tran were residing in Denver, Colorado when his father received a transfer order while working for the United Airlines, formerly known as Continental Airlines, bringing them to Houston, Texas. Dr. Tran enjoys watching sports and exercising in his free time. He is a die-hard sports fan for the Texans, Broncos, Rockets and Astros. Dr. Tran likes to keep up with news and events and has 3 young children to keep him on his toes!

By providing comprehensive eye exams for all adults and children and taking great care of their ocular health. I diagnose and treat anterior segment disease, fit patients in soft and GP contact lenses, and manage and treat various eye diseases. Hobbies/Interests: hanging out with my 3 girls, traveling, camping/hiking, reading.

The ability to help others see the world better and hopefully improve their quality of life. How are you helping patients live their best lives? By helping patients have the clearest and most comfortable vision. What does providing a transformational eyecare experience mean to you? It means that in addition to providing a means of clearer vision, I can educate the patient on their ocular health and how it relates to the rest of the body. Hobbies/Interests: Woodworking, working out, fishing, cooking.

The reason I became an optometrist is: because I understand what it is like to visually struggle in life, and I want to give people better vision so that they feel more confident in themselves to go out into the world. My favorite part of helping my patients is: seeing that change in their confidence when they see what the world is like through a pair of glasses/Cls. In my spare time, I enjoy: tennis, video games, housework, and binge-watching TV shows and movies.

Providing the highest quality vision care for all patients by educating and counseling them on their ocular health. Hobbies/Interests: spending time with my wife, enjoying Houston sports teams (Rockets and Texans) or sports activities, working on cars, exploring different restaurants and hanging out with friends.

My favorite part of helping my patients is: Seeing their smile and how happy they are when I help them. In my spare time, I enjoy: Chess.

Dr. Tran attended the University of Texas at Dallas where she received her Bachelor of Science in Biology in 2015. She then attended the University of Houston College of Optometry and graduated as valedictorian of her class in 2019. At her internships during optometry school, she was able to expand her knowledge in primary care optometry, ocular pathology, and specialty contact lenses. Dr. Tran is currently involved in the Texas Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association. Outside of optometry, she likes to spend her free time with her family and friends. Her hobbies include baking and watching Netflix.

Clinical Certifications and Specialties: While at UHCO, I received multiple letters of clinical excellence, and received Outstanding Officer of the Year for National Optometric Student Association. I am currently an Optometric Glaucoma Specialist and have certificates in Specialty Contact Lens Training. My favorite part of helping my patients is: Seeing how I impact and improve my patients' everyday lives. In my spare time, I enjoy: Spending time with my husband and 2 sons.

Undergraduate Education: Ferris State University. Optometry School: Nova Southeastern University. How are you impacting your local community or helping your patients live their best lives? By providing comprehensive eye exams for children and adults, diabetic eye exams, contact lens fitting/exams, and ocular disease management. Hobbies/Interests: Sports (Detroit Lions Fan), working out, traveling, and exploring new areas and restaurants in downtown Cincinnati.

Undergraduate Education: Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Optometry School: Southern College of Optometry. How are you impacting your local community or helping your patients live their best lives? I have lived in the area for almost twenty years. I’ve enjoyed being a part of the community, from being a VBS volunteer at church to just running into patients at the grocery store. I can help patients live their best lives by being a good listener and taking care of all their visual and eye health needs. Hobbies/Interests: We love the mountains and being able to go hiking and kayaking. We enjoy watching my daughter run cross country and track.
