Professional Achievements and Associations: AOA Member, GOA Member, BSA Eagle Scout. The reason I became an optometrist: I remember being fascinated by how much my first pair of glasses changed my perception and I wanted to be able to bring that joy to other people. I still have those glasses! In my spare time, I enjoy tennis, pickleball, running, traveling, and spending time with my wife, our two sons, and great friends. My favorite part of helping my patients is just being able to interact with such a diverse group of individuals each day. I learn a little something new from each patient, while helping them see better at the same time.

Hobbies/Interests: I like spending time with family and friends and spending time working with my cows and calves.

Undergraduate Education: University of Maine. Optometry School: New England College of Optometry. Dr.Reed has had an extensive career in optometry spanning over 52 years. This experience has given him a wealth of knowledge especially in the field of specialty contact lens fittings. My career has included time spent as the president of the Virginia Optometric Association, president of the North Virginia Optometric Society, and chairman for the Contact Lens Committee of Virginia Optometric Association. He also served as a board member for various associations, including Capital Eye Consultants, Vision Care Services in Washington D.C., and the Advisory board of Bausch & Lomb Soflens Division. He enjoys spending his free time reading, traveling, cooking and the love of dogs.

Professional Achievements and Associations: F.A.A.O (Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry); MOA/AOA (Maryland Optometric Association/American Optometric Assos). Clinical Certifications and Specialties: Residency in Cornea and Specialty Contact Lenses (1992-1993). The reason I became an optometrist is: I was originally a pre-vet major, but when my dog passed away, I decided to pursue a healthcare field that was more upbeat and where I could help people in a clean and happy environment. I was sitting in my advisor's office in college trying to figure out what I wanted to do, and my contact lens fell out. She said, "Have you ever considered optometry?" So, I researched it, worked in an OD office one summer during school, and knew that it was the right career for me. My favorite part of helping my patients is: Knowing that I play an important role in their everyday life by providing them with vision solutions to help them at work, at home and at play. In my spare time, I enjoy: Watching my kids' activities (softball and marching band); Ocean City, MD; Gardening; Photography; Walking/Hiking; Geocaching.

Dr. Monica Reeves, OD attended East Carolina University as a student athlete and double majored in Exercise Physiology and Chemistry. Following undergraduate school she attended Salus University and graduated in 2006. She is an active member of the North Carolina Optometric Society. Skilled in a wide range of primary care optometry, her specialties include fitting specialty contact lenses, ocular disease management, sports vision, pediatric to geriatric general care, pre- and post- operative LASIK and cataract care and a certification in Myopia management. Dr. Reeves has provided over 15 years of exceptional optometric service to a wonderfully diverse patient base in the RDU area. She enjoys listening to patients, and helping to provide education and recommendations about their ocular health and vision needs. When she is not in the office she enjoy’s spending time with her husband and four children. She is passionate about foster/adoption and supporting families in the foster/adoption process. She is actively involved in her church through women and children’s ministries. On a special note, her favorite shoes are Air Jordan’s- the funkier the colors, the better!

Dr. Reffner has practiced optometry for over 17 years. She did her undergraduate studies in Biology at Bowling Green State University. She earned her Doctor of Optometry from Southern College of Optometry in 1998. Dr. Reffner is a member of the American Optometric Association, and has participated in eye care programs with Prevent Blindness, Real Eyes, and Hope House. Her interests include primary care optometry and contact lenses. Dr. Reffner resides in West Chester with her husband and three children.

Every day is an opportunity to interact with new people from various backgrounds in need of seeing their best life. What does providing a transformational eyecare experience mean to you? It means building relationships with patients so I can understand their visual needs and meet those needs with a new prescription or medical treatment. How are you impacting your local community? Dr. Joanna Reiman was born and raised in Raleigh, North Carolina. She graduated summa cum laude from North Carolina State University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a minor in Genetics. She attended the Pennsylvania College of Optometry (PCO) and graduated with clinical honors in 2015 with a Doctorate in Optometry. After graduating, she returned to Raleigh to serve her home community. Upon returning to North Carolina, she became an active member of the Eastern District Optometric Society (EDOS), the North Carolina Optometric Society (NCOS), and the American Optometric Association (AOA). Dr Reiman currently serves as the President-Elect of the NCOS and the Federal Advocacy Representative for North Carolina with the AOA. Dr. Reiman was awarded the 2019 Young OD of the Year and the 2022 Optometrist of the Year by the NCOS. Dr Reiman lives in Raleigh with her husband, two children, and their rescue dog.

Dr. Jessica Reiniger hails from Berks County. She attended Bloomsburg University and earned a Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Optometry with honors from Pennsylvania College of Optometry. She enjoys discovering the uniqueness of each patient, providing services and materials customized to their individual needs. Making patients feel comfortable is her priority. Dr. Reiniger’s special interests include pediatrics and dry eye care. When not seeing patients, she loves spending time with her husband and daughter with her Shih Tzu named Stella at the Jersey shore.

Dr. Reitzes received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of Kentucky in 2012. After undergrad, she attended Indiana University School of Optometry and graduated with her Doctorate of Optometry in 2016. During her optometric studies, Dr. Reitzes completed externships at the Lexington VA Hospital in Kentucky, Bennett and Bloom Eye Centers in Louisville, Kentucky, and Whitewater Eye Center in Richmond, Indiana. Dr. Reitzes is interested in all areas of Primary Care Optometry. In her free time, she enjoys running, reading, sporting events, and spending time with friends and family.

Clinical Certifications and Specialties: Clinical Diplomate in Glaucoma; License in CT, MA & NH; Advanced Optometric Care certified in CT. The reason I became an optometrist is: I was always fascinated by the eye and visual system since I was a child. I greatly enjoy the clinical aspect of the profession as well as the patient/human interactions. My favorite part of helping my patients is: knowing I have made a real and positive impact on patient's lives whether it's through medical treatment or optical means. In my spare time, I enjoy: Fitness - running, cycling, swimming (triathlons); Travel with family especially beach resorts and warm climates, but also Alaska.

Professional Achievements and Associations: Member of Pennsylvania Optometric Association and American Optometric Association. The reason I became an optometrist is: I have needed vision correction since second grade and enjoy being able to make a difference in patient’s lives like my optometrist did for me in the past. I also enjoy being able to help patients see their best to enhance their lives as well as being able to help monitor or detect systemic health conditions by examining their eye health. My favorite part of helping my patients is: Learning what each patient needs for school, work, or activities and being able to find the best prescription to help them see their best every day. In my spare time, I enjoy: Spending time with family and friends, going to the beach, and enjoying the outdoors.

Kenneth Ridder was born and raised in Burlington, Colorado. He studied biology at the University of Colorado, Boulder and graduated with distinction from Pacific University College of Optometry. His honors include the Bausch and Lomb Excellence in Academic Achievement Award and the VSP Excellence in Primary Care Skills Achievement Award. Postgraduate studies include advanced ocular therapeutics, advanced glaucoma treatment & LASIK co-management. Dr. Ridder has been in private practice since 1992 and he is a member of the American Optometric and Colorado Optometric Associations. Dr. Ridder is Board Certified, American Board of Optometry. His special interests include LASIK, nutrition and complex contact lens fitting including multifocal, keratoconus, CRT & Synergeyes lenses. He believes that patient education is critically important to improving long term eye health. This includes education on safe contact lens wear as well as the prevention and management of conditions such as glaucoma, cataracts and macular degeneration. Dr. Ridder has been featured on local television and radio discussing vision care and has been published in professional journals. Dr. Ridder and his wife Chris enjoy traveling and spending time with their twin sons Tyler and Brandon. In his spare time, he also enjoys photography, videography, biking, and racquetball.

Dr. Diana Ries received her Bachelor of Science degree in Rehabilitation Science from the University of Pittsburgh. She went on to attend Nova Southeastern University College of Optometry where she received her Doctor of Optometry degree. During her four years of Optometry school, Dr. Ries completed internships at Katzen Eye Group in Baltimore, Maryland and William Jennings Bryan Dorn Veterans Affair Medical Center in Columbia, South Carolina. She performed rotations in ocular disease, pediatrics, vision therapy, geriatrics, and contact lens. Currently, Dr. Ries practices primary care Optometry, taking special interest in contact lens and ocular pathology. She co-manages post-operative cataract surgery and refractive surgery. She is a Board Certified Therapeutics & Glaucoma Optometrist. She has gained valuable knowledge working in a multitude of settings from private practice to veteran medical centers. She spends quality time with patients addressing all their eye care needs and questions. Dr. Ries resides in Exton, Pennsylvania with her husband, Brian, and two dogs where she enjoys spending time with her friends and family.
