It was ignited at age 11 when I received my first glasses and was immediately inspired to help others in the same way. How are you helping patients live their best lives? Exploring what patients' visual needs are and then providing optical goods, services, and strategies to meet these needs. What does providing a transformational eyecare experience mean to you? Delivering eye health care that exceeds the patient's expectations. How are you impacting your local community? I've given talks on various eye care-related subjects to various organizations and I've participated in the InfantSee initiative. Hobbies/Interests: Family activities, church, golf, travel, WVU Mountaineers sports.

Getting to work with patients to help them see the world the way it was meant to be seen. How are you helping patients live their best lives? By taking the time to listen to their needs and helping them to meet or surpass those needs. What does providing a transformational eyecare experience mean to you? Providing transformational eyecare means that you are helping the patients so that the last thing that have to think about is their eyes, they are just able to see the world without having to think about it. How are you impacting your local community? I am impacting my local community by providing the highest level of eye care for all members of my community. Hobbies/Interests: I am a soccer enthusiast. I play the guitar, enjoy working out. I roast and blend my own coffee.

How are you helping patients live their best lives? Helping everyone utilize their best vision for the tasks that they require and monitoring ocular health to ensure good vision for life. How are you impacting your local community? Involved in service and leadership through my church, board of directors for local homeless shelter, provide free eye exams through Remote Area Medical, local health fairs, and local free clinic. Hobbies/Interests: Family, hiking/walking, exercise, cooking, art, crafts.

The reason I became an optometrist is: To help people see better. My favorite part of helping my patients is: Connecting with my patients and getting to know them. Dr. Narine completed her undergraduate education at Adelphi University, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor's Degree in Biology. She then continued to complete her Doctorate at the State University of NY College of Optometry with clinical rotations in ocular disease. Her rotations included work with esteemed ophthalmologists at NY Vision Group, Fromer Eye Care, East NY Diagnostic and Treatment Center, and in-house disease clinics. Dr. Narine is a proud member of the American Optometric Association.

Dr. Usama Nasir attended Virginia Commonwealth University and is a graduate of the New England College of Optometry. He loves fulfilling the visual demands of his patients to best help them live out their best lives while providing amazing eye care. Dr. Nasir’s hobbies include hiking, playing video games, bowling, trying and cooking new foods, playing various sports, and making people laugh.

Dr. Paige Fuller is a graduate of the Michigan College of Optometry. She’s proud to improve vision and ocular health for all her patients. In her spare time, Dr. Fuller enjoys spending time with her family and dogs, as well as traveling and dabbling in photography.

Dr. Neal was born and grew up in Knoxville. She graduated TennesseeTech University in Cookeville with honors. After getting an optometry degree from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, she moved back to East Tennessee. She has practiced in Oak Ridge, Clinton and Knoxville. Prior to joining MyEyeDr she practiced with Denis McDonald, OD in Chattanooga for a number of years. Dr. Neal is a longtime member of Holy Ghost in Knoxville. She has three children. In addition to knitting and gardening, she enjoys time with family and friends.

Dr. Nelson holds a bachelor’s degree in biology from Taylor University in Upland, Indiana. She received her Doctor of Optometry from the prestigious Indiana University School of Optometry. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry in comprehensive care and glaucoma. While in school, she was a member of Taylor University’s student chapter of the Lions Club and was Treasurer for IU’s Fellowship of Christian Optometrists (FCO). She has made several trips to Central America to provide eye care to those in need. Dr. Nelson completed her residency in Primary Care/Ocular Disease at the VA system in Danville, IL where she specialized in diabetic eye disease, glaucoma management, and the treatment of other eye diseases. Dr. Nelson began practicing optometry in 2008.

Dr. Lauren Nelson is a graduate of the University of Houston College of Optometry where she was top of her class. Prior to optometry school, Dr. Nelson earned her Bachelor of Science degree in biochemistry summa cum laude from Texas A&M University. Dr. Nelson enjoys seeing patients of all ages but takes a special interest in helping children see better since she started wearing glasses at a young age. She enjoys the enthusiasm they bring to their visits as well as the challenge they present when they are not always willing to cooperate. Most of all, Dr. Nelson loves to see the confidence that comes with a new pair of glasses and being able to see the world again. Outside of work, Dr. Nelson loves spending time with her husband Andrew and their two wonderful boys A.J. and Kyle. When she’s not busy being a boy mom, Dr. Nelson is an avid crafter. She is currently into vinyl cutting, sewing, and embroidery but has been known to scrapbook or woodwork a time or two. You won’t find her crafting during the fall, though, because she has to dedicate her time to watching her Aggies on the football field.
