Dr. Dorothy Lea earned her Doctorate of Optometry from the Southern California College of Optometry at MBKU and holds a B.A. in Communications from the University of Maryland. With experience practicing in California, Texas, and Maryland, she brings a well-rounded and thoughtful approach to patient care. Now back in her hometown, Dr. Lea is proud to serve the community she grew up in. She’s passionate about helping patients achieve their visual potential and enjoys educating them about their eye health. Her warm, communicative style makes her a trusted partner in vision care. Outside the office, she enjoys spending time with her dog, exploring cafés and new cities, reading books, and nurturing her curiosity about the universe.

How are you impacting your local community or helping your patients live their best lives? Dr. Leary specializes in dry eye treatments, contact lens evaluations, and the treatment of non-surgical eye diseases. He is certified in the diagnosis and management of ocular disease. Dr. Leary enjoys seeing families, children, and positively affecting people's lives by giving them the best possible vision correction. Dr. Leary has volunteered locally with the Lions club and is a co-founder of the Greater Columbus Optometric Association where he serves as president. He is a Georgia native. Hobbies/Interests: He enjoys time spent with his family, enjoys nature, sports and working on mechanical things.

Undergraduate Education: Attended UNC-CH. Optometry School: Received OD degree from Pennsylvania College of Optometry. How are you impacting your local community or helping your patients live their best lives? Provide comprehensive eye care to children and adults including eyeglass and contact lens corrections, addressing acute medical eye problems and injuries, and management of ocular complications of general systemic medical conditions. Hobbies/Interest: Enjoy boating, fishing, camping, and other travel with family and Willie our black lab.

Dr. Lee completed his undergraduate studies at The University of Texas at Austin in 2002. He then pursued his lifelong passion of being an optometrist and graduated from the Inter-American University of Puerto Rico College of Optometry in 2008. Afterward, he moved to New Jersey and completed a residency program in ocular disease and primary care at the Eye Care Center of New Jersey in 2009. Dr. Lee enjoys being active and likes to play basketball and tennis.

Dr. Nyok “Alan” Lee, O.D. is a licensed Optometric Glaucoma specialist and is therapeutically certified. He graduated from Baylor University with a Bachelor of Arts degree and earned his Doctorate of Optometry from the New England College of Optometry. During his clinical education, he completed his externships at Veterans Affairs and Codman Square Community Health Center where he gained valuable experience in diagnosing and management of various ocular diseases including cataracts, diabetic retinopathy, and glaucoma. He also completed his primary care rotation with EyeTrends in the Woodlands and a cornea and specialty contact lens rotation with Global Vision Rehabilitation Center in Miami. Dr. Lee’s clinical interest is in the application of specialty contact lenses in the treatment of various corneal and ocular surface conditions including keratoconus, post-surgical corneas, and dry eyes. He also believes that having a healthy vision from an early age is key to success and enjoys working with the pediatric population. Dr. Lee applies a relaxed demeanor in patient encounters to foster a friendly doctor/patient interaction. Dr. Lee is recognized by Newsweek as one of America’s Best Eye Doctors. In this free time, Dr. Lee enjoys longboarding, traveling, and spending time with his dogs. He considers Houston his home and enjoys exploring new aspects that the city continues to offer.

The feeling that we get to help to make our patients see and feel better. Getting to have a personal connection with patients and their families. How are you helping patients live their best lives? Giving them the best eye care possible. What does providing a transformational eyecare experience mean to you? Providing the best care possible, by offering patients newest and most appropriate eye care solutions for them. Hobbies/Interests: fishing, traveling, and spending time with family.

I still truly LOVE providing the best vision and medical care possible so that no one misses out on anything in life due to poor sight. Hobbies/Interests: I am an avid outdoorsman. I enjoy spending time with my family, friends, and guests, on our farm and preserve, where we raise horses, whitetail deer, antelope, and other animals.

Dr. Shawna Lehmann is a Therapeutic Optometrist and Optometric Glaucoma Specialist in the state of Texas. She graduated summa cum laude from the University of Redlands in Southern California. She went on to complete her Doctor of Optometry degree at Marshall B. Ketchum University. During her education, Dr. Lehmann conducted research for the National Eye Institute at the University of Houston College of Optometry. During her research, she was introduced to the Hill Country of Texas and fell in love with the region. It took a few years, but she relocated with her family as soon as she could! Dr. Lehmann is a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa International Honor Society, a lifetime member of the Omega Delta Optometric Fraternity, and a member of the Ocular Wellness and Nutrition Society. Dr. Lehmann has a special interest in nutrition and its role in maintaining eye health and preventing eye disease. She loves to spread the word on the importance of UV protective eye wear and the effects of good nutrition on ocular health. Dr. Lehmann has over 23 years experience in caring for patients and treating conditions such as diabetic eye disease, cataracts, eye infections, glaucoma, styes, dry eye, inflammation of the eye, and retinal conditions, including macular degeneration. She enjoys getting to know her patients and caring for all of their eye wear and eye care needs. Dr. Lehmann and her husband, Peter, are raising four sons, four very energetic and curious sons. As a family, they enjoy movies, exploring and traveling, and spending time on the river.

Dr. Shannon Leitenbauer graduated from Emporia State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology, then received her Doctorate of Optometry from Northeastern State University College of Optometry in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. Upon graduation, she completed her residency in a hospital-based primary eye care/ocular disease clinic at the Veteran’s Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts. In 1998, she began in private practice. Her credentials include being a Certified Optometric Physician and a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry. Dr. Leitenbauer has served in several faculty positions, including Adjunct Faculty of Biology and Anatomy/Physiology at Indian River State College and The New England College of Optometry in Boston, MA. She also was an Adjunct Lecturer for Massachusetts General Hospital’s Nursing Program. Dr. Leitenbauer enjoys serving the community where she lives. She is an active member of the Ft. Pierce Chamber of Commerce, is past president of the Ft. Pierce Downtown Kiwanis Club, has served on the board of directors of the Treasure Coast Food Bank, and has volunteered for the St. Lucie County Big Brothers / Big Sisters program. She resides in Ft. Pierce with her husband, Jony Leitenbauer, and their three children.

Dr. Leonard earned her Doctor of Optometry from Indiana University School of Optometry in Bloomington, IN. She has years of experience in diagnosis, treatment, and management of eye health for the benefit of each patient, as she provides expert service with personal, caring attention. Undergraduate: University of Houston Downtown, bachelor’s in biology with a minor in Chemistry; Optometry: University of Houston College of Optometry. Professional Achievements/Associations: American Optometric Association and the Texas Optometry Association. Clinical Certifications & Specialties: Therapeutic optometrist and glaucoma specialist. What drives your passion for optometry? I enjoy providing high quality, personalized medical and routine eye exams to patients with whom I genuinely enjoy our interactions in bettering their eye health needs. I also like to both educate my patients and place them at ease so that their experience at MyEyeDr is a two-way dialogue where we both listen and respond in a relaxed setting. Hobbies/interest. Traveling, spreading time with family and listening to music.

My favorite part of helping my patients is: Making people more confident about themselves by glasses or contact lenses or surgery.
