Undergraduate Education: Michigan State University—BS in Human Biology. Optometry School: Illinois College of Optometry. Certifications/Awards: Residency (Ocular Disease)—Wyoming VA Medical Center/Ferris State University. Hobbies/Interests: Traveling, gardening, cooking, and spending time with my family and friends.

Dr. Barclay was born and raised in Southwest Michigan. He attended the Michigan College of Optometry (MCO) at Ferris State University, where he earned his Bachelors of Vision Science degree in 2005. During optometry school, Dr. Barclay was an active member in student organizations. He was President of the Michigan Optometric Student Association (MOSA) in his third year of optometry school and went on a VOSH (Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity) trip to St. Lucia to provide free eye exams and glasses to the underserved. He graduated in 2007 with high honors from MCO and practiced in Indiana and Michigan his first four years as an Optometrist before locating to Lubbock, TX. in 2011 with his wife and son. Their son is very active in baseball and attends Friendship ISD. They also have a daughter who was born in Lubbock, TX. in 2014. In 2011, Dr. Barclay became a Board-Certified Optometrist after he successfully completed the inaugural test offered by the American Board of Optometry. Dr. Barclay is a member of the South Plains Optometric Society, American Optometric Association, and the Texas Optometric Association. Dr. Barclay specializes in Glaucoma/Therapeutic Optometry (which includes treatment for glaucoma, dry eye, eye infections and foreign body removal), Specialty Contact Lenses (including multi-focal, rigid, Keratoconus, and Corneal Refractive Therapy (CRT) contact lenses), Family Vision and Laser Vision Evaluations with the Laser Eye Center of Lubbock.

Professional Achievements and Associations: Southern College of Optometry Contact Lens Society member. Clinical Certifications and Specialties: TN Therapeutically certified. The reason I became an optometrist is: I became interested when I was fitted with glasses in 6th grade and then contact lenses in 9th grade. My favorite part of helping my patients is: Showing them how much better they can see with glasses or contact lenses. In my spare time, I enjoy: Swimming, working out, music, cooking.

How are you impacting your local community or helping your patients live their best lives? Eyesight is one of our most precious senses, and it is my goal to help all my patients see clearly and comfortably throughout their lives. Hobbies/Interests: Reading, crochet, hand embroidery, and cross-stitch.

Originally from Toronto, Ontario, Dr. Bayat graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Queen’s University before earning her Doctorate in Optometry from the New England College of Optometry in Boston. Dr. Niki Bayat specializes in primary care, pediatric eye care, and ocular disease management. Her clinical experience spans various settings, including VA medical centers, community health centers, and private practice. During her clinical rotations in Massachusetts, Oregon, California, and Florida, she had the privilege of working with diverse patient populations, gaining valuable insights into their unique health needs. In her free time, Dr. Bayat enjoys traveling and spending quality time with family and friends. While Canada will always hold a special place in her heart, she is proud to call Colorado home and looks forward to the adventures ahead!

I am impacting my local community by ensuring people have access to eye-related health care and are aware of ocular diseases that can affect their vision. I am a dedicated and compassionate Optometrist with a passion for enhancing the vision and eye health of patients. Over the past years, I have provided expert eye care, including comprehensive eye exams, contact lens fittings, and the diagnosis and management of various eye conditions. I am committed to improving the quality of life for individuals by ensuring they enjoy clear, healthy, and comfortable vision. I take pride in staying up to date with the latest advancements in optometry to offer the best care possible.

How are you impacting your local community or helping your patients live their best lives? I enjoy personalizing my patients’ experience by listening to the patients and learning what is most important for them to be able to address their needs to improve their vision and their lives. I welcome patients from young children to the elderly population. Hobbies/Interests: traveling, watching my kids play baseball, spending time with friends.

Undergraduate Education: Southeastern Louisiana University - undergraduate degree in Pre-Medicine with a minor in Psychology. Graduated Magna Cum Laude. Optometry School: University of Alabama at Birmingham – 2009. The reason I became an optometrist is: I always knew that I wanted to be a doctor of some sort, however, I did not feel that surgery was the route I wanted to take. After studying about the brain and its functions in my psychology courses, I fell in love with the eyes. It’s amazing to know what can be detected by just looking into someone eyes. So, this was the perfect fit for me to help people stay healthy. My favorite part of helping my patients is: allowing them to see as best as they possibly can and ensuring that they continue to see that well for many years to come. In my spare time, I enjoy: Reading, exercising, spending time with my family.

In my spare time, I enjoy running, biking, playing the guitar, and writing. My favorite part of helping my patients is seeing the results.
