Dr. Hecker, a proud graduate of Oklahoma State University, furthered his education at Northeastern State University Oklahoma College of Optometry. His dedication to clinical excellence is evident in his completion of an Ocular Disease and Primary Care residency at the Jack C. Montgomery VA Medical Center and his attainment of Fellowship in the American Academy of Optometry. He holds advanced certifications in anterior segment laser procedures and optometric surgical techniques from Northeastern State University College of Optometry. Outside of his professional pursuits, Dr. Hecker enjoys staying active through basketball and football, is an avid reader, and treasures quality time with his family, especially with his two young daughters.

Dr. Hehar earned her undergraduate degree from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan, before pursuing her Doctor of Optometry at The Michigan College of Optometry. She then completed a residency in ocular disease at the Louis Stokes Cleveland VAMC. Currently, Dr. Hehar serves as an Associate Professor at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry, where she works closely with students at The Eye Institute. She has a strong passion for ocular disease, with a particular interest in glaucoma. Outside of her professional life, Dr. Hehar enjoys traveling and spending time with family and friends. She is thrilled to join the MyEyeDr. family and remains deeply committed to providing exceptional care for her patients.

We want to serve the patients in our community by providing the best vision care. We desire to treat each patient with kindness and respect and want patients to feel confident in placing their trust in us as their eye care provider. How are you impacting your local community? We support local groups and organizations through various sponsorships, active member of Logan Elm Baptist Church, serve on the school board at New Hope Christian Academy. A transformational eyecare experience includes not only providing great visual outcomes and stylish frames but utilizing technology to educate patients on how the eyes can help reveal information on their general health as well. Matthew D. Helsing, O.D. is a full scope optometric physician trained in all areas of glaucoma, pediatric, geriatric, low vision, therapeutic eye care and he specializes in contact lens care. Dr. Helsing is a native of Tampa. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration at the University of Florida. He then completed his Biomedical Science requirements at the University of South Florida. He went to Nova Southeastern University to complete his O.D. in Optometry. Dr. Helsing completed his internship at Bay Pines V.A. and Aker-Kasten Eye Center in Boca Raton, Florida. Dr. Helsing's professional memberships include the American Optometric Society, Florida Optometric Association, Hillsborough Society of Optometry and National Optometric Practice Management Association. Dr. Helsing lives in Tampa with his wife, Jennifer. During his free time, he enjoys golfing, fishing and camping.

The reason I became an optometrist is: I wanted to become an optometrist from an early age because my optometrist sparked my interest in optometry. I also find the eye to be a fascinating part of our human body that I wanted to know more about. My favorite part of helping my patients is: It’s amazing knowing that we can impact a patient’s life not just by prescribing glasses and/or contact lenses that allows them to see, but also be able to diagnose ocular conditions and detect early signs of certain systemic conditions. I also enjoy making a personal connection with my patients as well. In my spare time, I enjoy: Going for walks and the movies with my husband, spending time with my family and friends, working out, reading, and traveling.

From a young age, Dr. Hendrickson found his passion for eye care stemming from his family's experiences with eye conditions. This personal connection fueled his commitment to providing thorough and compassionate care, a philosophy he embraced while learning from mentors who prioritized patient well-being during eye exams. After earning his degree in optometry in 2009, Dr. Hendrickson chose to diversify his experiences by working in multiple modes of practice. He learned to be very efficient yet thorough in a fast-paced corporate optometry position. He honed his pre- and post-surgical eye care management while working under a LASIK and cataract surgeon. After a few years of honing his craft, Dr. Hendrickson’s commitment to detailed and comprehensive eye exams led him to open his own business in September 2013, focusing on personalized care and specialized treatments beyond most clinics' standard offerings. After over 10 successful years running the business and becoming bogged down by business operations, Dr. Hendrickson has decided to re-focus on patient care and reduce some of the stresses of business ownership by partnering with MyEyeDr. Dr. Hendrickson’s expertise includes LASIK co-management, where precision is key, and specialty contact lens fittings—a niche service for those with unique corneal conditions. His time at Illinois College of Optometry and various externships equipped him with a broad skillset to manage eye injuries and diseases. Patients often express their appreciation of the depth and quality of the eye exams performed by Dr Hendrickson, noting the stark difference from their past experiences. Dr. Hendrickson takes pride in using his expertise not just to treat eyes but to care for his patients as he would for his own family. His services extend from prescribing everyday eyewear and contacts to treating advanced eye diseases and preventing myopia in children. Dr. Hendrickson is dedicated to educating the public about what a comprehensive eye exam should involve, distinguishing it from the basic refraction tests often mistaken for a full exam. He's committed to correcting misconceptions, like the misnomer of an “online eye exam,” and promoting the importance of regular, comprehensive eye checks. One patient at a time, Dr. Hendrickson is passionate about elevating the standard of eye care and ensuring that each exam is as thorough and beneficial to the patient’s quality of life as possible.

Dr. Hernandez joined the MyEyeDoctor team in 2024. Dr. Hernandez graduated with honors from Northeastern State University Oklahoma College of Optometry in 2017 and moved to the Broken Arrow area. He enjoys traveling and spending time with his dogs. Dr. Hernandez and his wife live in Broken Arrow.Dr. Hernandez graduated from Northeastern State University College of Optometry with honors and won several awards for his disease and clinical management skills.

Undergraduate Education: Rice University, Houston Texas- Biochemistry. Optometry School: Ohio State University College of Optometry. How are you impacting your local community or helping your patients live their best lives? I am impacting my local community by providing comprehensive eye exams for children and adults, diabetic eye exams, contact lens fittings, and ocular disease management. I have been at this location for 23 years, so I am truly a part of this community. Hobbies: My hobbies and interests include backpacking, travelling, and spending time with my wife and 2 dogs.

Dr. Stephanie Hilde is a doctor at Arizona Primary Eye Care and strives to provide high quality, evidence-based, and compassionate eye care. She was born and raised in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. Dr. Hilde then went on to complete her bachelor’s degree in biology with a minor in biochemistry from the University of Arizona in Tucson, Arizona. While in college, she met her husband, Casey. They enjoy walking their dog, biking and hiking together. Dr. Hilde then moved to Phoenix, Arizona to continue her optometric education at Midwestern University Arizona College of Optometry. Dr. Hilde joined Arizona Primary Eye Care in September of 2019 after completing her degree from Midwestern University where she was a member of Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometric Honor Society and helped train other students as a teaching assistant. Dr. Hilde attended externships where her training focused on cataract and refractive surgery co-management, diabetic co-management, vision therapy, pediatrics, and specialty contact lenses. She is a member of the American Optometric Association, the Arizona Optometric Association, the Southern Arizona Optometric Society, and the Scleral Lens Education Society. Dr. Hilde’s professional interests include specialty contact lenses, keratoconus, diabetic co-management, cataract surgery co-management, pediatric eye exams, and treating eye infections.
