Dr. Filchak was raised in Woodbury and attended Nonnewaug High School. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Connecticut in 1980, and graduated as a Doctor of Optometry in 1985 from the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee. Dr. Filchak is certified as an advanced optometric practitioner. He provides the full spectrum of optometric services from general optometry, contact lenses, LASIK pre & post-op care, and the treatment of eye diseases. Dr. Filchak resides in Woodbury with his wife, Mary.

Undergraduate Education: Illinois College, Batchelor of Science in Biochemistry. Optometry School: Indiana University School of Optometry, class of 2021. Professional Achievements and Associations: Member of the Indiana Optometric Association and American Optometric Association. Clinical Certifications and Specialties: Primary care optometry, including contact lenses. Board certified in treatment and management of ocular disease. The reason I became an optometrist is: The positive impact that optometry had on my own life has driven me to help others and provide a similarly positive experience for my patients. My favorite part of helping my patients is: Finding solutions to fit their individual visual needs and help them to live their best lives. In my spare time, I enjoy: Traveling, trying new foods, and watching sports.

Dr. Fitzgerald graduated from the University of Mary, in Bismark, North Dakota, with a bachelor of Science degree in Biology. He then attended the Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus University, graduating with an additional B.S. in Vision Sciences and his Doctorate of Optometry. After graduating, Dr. Fitzgerald completed one year Primary Care Residency Program at Salus University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He is also certified to use topical and oral pharmaceutical agents. His specialties and interests include ocular disease, contact lenses and vision therapy. Dr. Fitzgerald is a member of the American Academy of Optometry, the American Optometric Association and Vermont Optometric Association. Dr. Fitzgerald was also awarded Clinical Honors while attending Salus University and received an award for Clinical Excellence during his advanced pediatric clinical rotation.

Clinical Certifications and Specialties: Treatment of dry eye disease. The reason I became an optometrist is: I wanted to be able to have an immediate impact on my patients’ lives. Optometry allows this through vision and ocular health. My favorite part of helping my patients is: Observing the smile on each patient’s face when they see how well their vision will be with their new glasses. In my spare time, I enjoy: Traveling. Hiking in national parks.

Dr. Brenda Floyd is a licensed optometrist practicing at MyEyeDr. in Lewisville, Texas. She earned a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and received her Doctorate in Optometry from the University of Alabama of Alabama in Birmingham School of Optometry. Dr. Floyd's educational journey also includes a Bachelor of Science degree in Physiological Optics from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). As part of her training, she completed an internship at the UAB Diabetes Hospital. In her college years, Dr. Floyd served as the president of the Gamma Beta Phi Honor Society. Dr. Floyd has received the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award from Marquis Who's Who, a renowned publisher of biographical profiles. Her extensive experience, leadership qualities, and notable accomplishments have earned her a prominent position within her professional network. She also received the Marquis Award for Who's Who in Medicine and Healthcare. Before establishing her practice in the Dallas area, Dr. Floyd gained valuable clinical experience at the Center for Developmental and Learning Disorders at UAB Health System. Additionally, she served as a clinician at the Diabetes Hospital of UAB Health System. During her career, Dr. Floyd also contributed as a columnist in eye care for the Lewisville Daily Leader. In 1993, Dr. Floyd founded Sharp Eyes Optometry in Lewisville, Texas, and later became partners with Dr. Rosenberg in 2005. Their private practice serves the Flower Mound, Lewisville, and Carrollton areas, offering a comprehensive range of services and eyewear products. These include eye exams, testing for all ages, prescription and non-prescription glasses, sunglasses, as well as a wide selection of eyewear frames and contact lenses. Dr. Floyd's dedication to her community is evident in her commitment to helping her patients live their best lives. She takes pride in providing excellent care and strives to ensure her patients' satisfaction. Her passion for optometry allows her to tackle even the most challenging vision issues and provide effective solutions. Actively involved in professional organizations, Dr. Floyd is a longstanding member of the American Optometric Association (AOA), where she received an Education Award for her exceptional work. She has also been associated with the Optometric Foundation and the Texas Optometric Association. Outside of her practice, Dr. Floyd enjoys various hobbies and interests. She finds joy in gardening, music, piano composition, and spending quality time with her family and friends. Undergraduate Education: Radford University. Optometry School: Pennsylvania College of Optometry. How are you helping your local community or helping your patients live their best lives? I always strive to help my patients live their best lives by providing the best comprehensive exams and contact lens fits that maximize my patients’ visual needs. I listen to their concerns and provide options to maximize their visual performance. I have practiced since 1993 in various modalities thru my career. In the early part of my career, I had staff privileges at various hospital in NC where I gathered expertise in managing various ocular disease states. I stay very active in continuing education and professional organizations to ensure I am current on the latest knowledge and technology related to eye care. I also strive to learn the community that I serve and become involved so I can understand community needs. In recent years I have provided care and glasses for children in various DC public charter schools. I’ve also volunteered at health screen days on Capitol Hill. I try to support local charities and I have been involved as an athlete in local cycling, triathlon, swim and row teams. This gives me perspective on how to best serve my patients and community. Hobbies: general physical fitness and nutrition/cycling, running, triathlon, rowing, international hiking and travel, culinary food, and wine excursions.

Undergraduate Education: Stonehill College. Optometry School: New England College of Optometry. How are you impacting your local community or helping your patients live their best lives? I coached high school baseball, basketball and football and officiated youth baseball games. In the office I provide and educate patients on the optical solutions that will best fit their needs. Hobbies/Interests: I played football at the collegiate level and enjoy playing baseball and basketball. I love to garden and landscape.

Undergraduate Education: Earned my Honours Specialization in Biology from the University of Western Ontario in Canada. Optometry School: Completed my Doctor of Optometry degree at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry. Certifications/Awards: Gold Key International Optometric Society Award; Joseph Ricci Memorial Award; nominated for the Joseph Toland Memorial Award. Hobbies/Interests: Enjoys staying active and adventurous through hiking, water sports, badminton, pickleball, and exploring the outdoors. Loves experimenting with new recipes on weekends.

Dr. Bailey Ford earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences from the University of California, Riverside before pursuing her Doctorate in Optometry from Western University College of Optometry. In optometry school she was a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometric Honors Society and served as a member of her Student Government Association. During her fourth year externships she gained invaluable experience in the treatment and management of ocular disease from Lobue Laser and Eye Medical Center in her hometown of Murrieta, California, the Naval Medical Center in San Diego, and Orange County Retina Medical Group. She also studied binocular vision disorders and behavioral optometry at the Optometric Vision Development Center in La Jolla, California. After graduating, she completed a residency in primary care and ocular disease through the Pennsylvania College of Optometry at The Eye Institute in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She moved to Pennsylvania for education and stayed for the love of her husband and the Philadelphia Eagles. Dr. Ford has a passion for eye care and her goal is to protect and improve sight through a holistic approach to optometry, understanding her patients’ eye problems as they relate to their systemic health and individual needs. During her free time, Dr. Ford loves to read, swim, hike our National Parks, and go to concerts.

Dr. Parisa Foroutan attended the University of Incarnate Word Rosenberg School of Optometry in San Antonio with extensive training in primary care, contact lenses—including specialty lenses for keratoconus, vision therapy as well as neurodevelopmental disorders of the eye, management and treatment of glaucoma and Diabetes, and well as ocular traumas including abrasions and infections of the eye. She is now happy to be serving the community she grew up in. She is bilingual in both English and Farsi.

Undergraduate Education: Valparaiso University, BS in Chemistry and Biology Optometry School: Indiana University School of Optometry, 2019. The reason I became an optometrist is: I always knew I wanted to do something in the medical field, and the more I learned about eyes the more I wanted to know. I love being able to specialize in such an interesting area of health, while also helping patients improve their quality of life. My favorite part of helping my patients is: Helping improve their lives! I love seeing the reaction of kids getting a pair of glasses for the first time or finding a solution for a contact lens patient that thought they were out of options. In my spare time, I enjoy: Going to concerts, playing tennis, and spending time with my dog.

Dr. Kaitlin Fosse earned her bachelor’s in biology from the University of Florida before graduating from the Indiana University School of Optometry (IUSO). While completing her doctorate, she was involved in IUSO’s Clinical Optics Research Lab and Dry Eye Clinic. During her externships she gained extensive clinical experience in scleral lenses for keratoconus, ocular pathology, and primary care. Dr. Fosse has expertise in specialty contact lenses, and is passionate about managing the ocular diseases that benefit from them. She is a member of the GP Lens Institute and the Colorado Optometric Association. In her free time, she enjoys swing dancing, skiing, board games, and spending time with her husband, son, and animals.

Dr. Haidi Fouda is a residency-trained optometrist with advanced training in ocular disease and primary care. She earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from MCPHS and completed her residency at Seidenberg Protzko Eye Associates, where she co-managed surgical cases alongside glaucoma and retina specialists. She provides comprehensive and emergency eye care for a wide range of ocular and vision conditions, and was honored with the William Feinbloom Low Vision Award for excellence in patient care and commitment to serving patients with visual impairments. Dr. Fouda has also contributed to clinical research as a sub-investigator in studies on dry eye disease, allergic conjunctivitis, and glaucoma. Her care approach blends clinical expertise with compassionate, personalized treatment.

Undergrad: UNC-Charlotte- 2010 Graduated top of her class and Magna Cum Laude with a B.A. in Chemistry, and minors in Biology and Interdisciplinary Health Studies Optometry: Southern College of Optometry, Memphis TN-2015 Graduated Summa Cum Laude Awards: Hayes Center for Practice Excellence Award (SCO-2015) Prioritize Care Award (Myeyedr- 2021) Dr. Raess is currently serving as an officer for NC Optometric Society- Eastern District When not at work, Dr. Raess enjoys spending time at the beach or mountains with her husband, two children, and Aussie Shepherd- Eli! She also enjoys sports of all types, but her favorite is hockey. Go Canes! Dr. Raess has had a passion for optometry since her first eye exam in the 5th grade. After the doctor showed her the pictures of the back of her eye and showed her a patient they recently had seen and sent for possible diabetes, Dr. Raess was fascinated by how such systemic things could manifest in the eye. She left the exam and told her mother that she wanted to be an optometrist when she grew up... and the rest is history.

Dr. Scott Fox was born and raised in Mesa, AZ. He graduated from ASU with a Bachelor of Science degree majoring in Neurobiology and completed his Doctorate of Optometry at Midwestern University. Dr Fox is dedicated to providing personalized care to each patient to improve their visual clarity and quality of life. He specializes in comprehensive eye care, contact lens fittings, and ocular disease management. In his free time, he enjoys spending time outdoors hiking, mountain biking, or playing golf.

Undergraduate Education: University of NC-Greensboro Accounting and Business and University of Houston, BS in Physiological Optics. Optometry School: University of Houston College of Optometry. Certifications/Awards: Graduated Magna cum laude, Beta Sigma Kappa Optometric Honor Society, American Optometric Society, NC Optometric Society, and Piedmont Optometric Society, Member of Lions Club International. I have over 33 years of experience improving my patients’ quality of life by maximizing their ability to see with eyeglasses and/or contact lenses, maintaining and educating them on their ocular and systemic health, and building lifelong relationships. Hobbies/Interests: Traveling, cooking, photography, spending time with my family and friends: husband, Johnny, adult children, Luke (Logistics Army Officer and now corporate logistics manager), and Lindsey (“Dr P.”-she is a dentist in Richmond, VA), walking my dog, Marley, exploring the great outdoors, especially on a hike, the beach or a cruise, paddle board/kayak and boating on Lake Norman, and taking care of my parents and patients.
