Hobbies/Interests: When I’m not seeing patients, I love to spend time with my husband and two kids, check out a local park/playground, or splash at the neighborhood pool. I enjoy working in our garden, reading, listening to podcasts, and hitting the gym.

She obtained her Doctorate of Optometry degree from S.U.N.Y College of Optometry in 1995 with externships at Westpoint Military Academy and Castle Point V.A. Hospital. She was awarded the Frederick W. Brock Memorial Award for Outstanding Clinical Performance in Vision Therapy and the therapeutic Pharmaceutical Agents Advanced Practice Certificate in 2002. Dr. Ewers is originally from Portland, Indiana. Her early interest in optometry led to two Associate of Science degrees in Optometric Technology and Opticianry at Indiana University. She continued on and received her Bachelor's degree at Indiana University, Bloomington and earned her Doctorate of Optometry from the prestigious IU School of Optometry in 1995. While enrolled as a graduate student she was an Assistant Instructor for three years and Assistant Supervisor of interns and technicians in the Atwater Clinic Dispensary. Dr. Ewers was awarded Member of the Year by Alpha Phi Omega. Dr. Ewers has over 15 years in practice and 22 years in the optical field. She is a member of the American Optometric Association, Indiana Optometric Association, Central Indiana Optometric Society and Sports Vision Section of the AOA. Her professional interests include medical optometric care, contact lenses and sports vision training.

Dr. Jennifer Faber is originally from Auburn, Indiana. She attended Purdue University for herr Bachelor of Science degree in biological sciences. She then received her Doctor of Optometry degree from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. During her internship year, Dr. Faber partook in extended ophthalmology training at two distinguished practices- Eye Associates of Southern Indiana and Eye Surgeons of Indiana. Dr. Faber quotes, “Being active, outdoors lovers that my family and I are, we were ecstatic about moving to not only North Carolina, but Asheville! We have always wanted to settle down in this area of the state.” Dr. Faber lives with her husband Ryan along with their two small children, Brinley and Hudson. She also adds, “In my free time, I love to be with family and friends, go camping or to the beach, go hiking, enjoy live music, or attend sporting events.”

Jeffrey Fardink, OD

About Jeffrey Fardink, OD

Dr. Fardink received a degree in chemistry from Princeton University and then graduated from The Ohio State University College of Optometry. Dr. Fardink focuses on specialty contacts, including scleral lenses and corneal (rigid) gas permeable lenses. He completed an advanced rotation with honors at the Case Western Reserve University Department of Ophthalmology, where he fit specialty contact lenses onto cornea transplant patients. He also completed an ocular disease rotation at the Chillicothe VA Medical Center, where he treated glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, and other ocular disorders. While an optometry student, Dr. Fardink co-founded OSU’s Contact Lens Advancement Society, of which he was also president, and served as vice president of OSU’s Private Practice Club. He is a former volunteer EMT and lead guitar player for The Band Keratopathy (an all optometry rock band). He lives with his wife, Christina, and their son, Emmett.
