Dr. Cheriachangel—or Dr. Cheri, as she's known to her patients—earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from the New England College of Optometry in Boston after completing her undergraduate studies at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Before becoming a licensed optometrist, Dr. Cheri spent nearly a decade working in non-doctor roles in the optometry field, gaining valuable experience that shaped her approach to patient care. During her final clinical rotation at the West Philadelphia VA Medical Center, she received honors for her patient rapport and clinical skills, and developed a strong connection to the Philadelphia area. Now practicing just outside the city, she’s passionate about providing personalized, high-quality eye care to the local community.

Dr. Angela Cho earned her Bachelor of Arts in Integrative Physiology from the University of Colorado Boulder, where she developed a strong foundation in human biology and the health sciences. She went on to earn her Doctor of Optometry degree from Nova Southeastern University College of Optometry. Dr. Cho is a U.S. Air Force veteran and has over 10 years of clinical experience. She was recognized with the Trusted Care Hero Award for her excellence in patient care and dedication to service. Outside the clinic, she enjoys spending time outdoors gardening and hiking, as well as relaxing with video games or movies with family.

Helping patients see clearly and educating them of the importance of their eye health is extremely rewarding! How are you helping patients live their best lives? I like to customize my recommendations to each patients visual needs based on their work environment and their hobbies. What does providing a transformational eyecare experience mean to you? Ensuring the happiness and satisfaction of all patients. How are you impacting your local community? Whenever the opportunity arises, I like to volunteer my time to improve my local community. Hobbies/Interests: Exploring all the exciting things Chicago has to offer!

Dr. Choi received her Bachelor of Science in Optometry from Konyang University in Korea and went on to complete a Ph.D. in corneal endothelial dystrophy at the Indiana University School of Optometry. Dr. Choi later earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from the New England College of Optometry in Boston, Massachusetts. Dr. Choi’s advanced background in anterior-segment research and ocular surface biology allows Dr. Choi to provide evidence-based, patient-focused care, with special interests in contact lenses, dry eye management, and the treatment of corneal conditions. Outside of the clinic, Dr. Choi enjoys traveling, exploring good restaurants and cafés, and painting.

What drives your passion for optometry? I've wanted to be an optometrist since I was 13 years old. So, I am daily living out my childhood dream. Since graduating in 1999, I still love taking care of my patients' individual needs. How are you helping patients live their best lives? I often say I cannot do a person's work for them, but I can make it easier for them to do their work by meeting their individual visual needs. What does providing a transformational eyecare experience mean to you? A transformational eyecare experience happens when a person's quality of life is improved by what we prescribe and recommend, and then they refer people to us and come back year after year. How are you impacting your local community? Not only do I help with patients' visual needs, but I have seen many of these people for years, and we become like family. Sometimes I am just a listening ear. Hobbies/Interests: I love traveling and experiencing wine. I enjoy watching baseball, especially when it involves my kids.

Dr. Christianson, a native of Latrobe, attended Washington and Jefferson College where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry. He earned his Bachelor's of Science in Vision Science and Doctor of Optometry degrees from The Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus University in Philadelphia. Dr. Christianson’s training included multiple site externships including a rotation at a VA hospital in New Jersey and The Eye Institute in Philadelphia. When Dr. Christianson is out of the office, he is spending time with his wife and two children, golfing, running or enjoying his local sports teams.

How are you impacting your local community or helping your patients live their best lives? Dr. Chu enjoys seeing patients of all ages for their comprehensive eye exams while providing personalized care for each patient. Hobbies/Interests: Attempting to play golf, trying to keep up with my son and daughter, photography cooking and traveling.

Undergraduate Education: University of Florida- Bachelors in Applied Physiology and Kinesiology, Go Gators! Optometry School: Nova Southeastern University College of Optometry and current resident at Southern College of Optometry with an emphasis in Pediatrics, Vision Therapy and Vision Rehabilitation. How are you impacting your local community or helping your patients live their best lives? When providing comprehensive eye exams for adults and children, I always given them all their options and introduce them to the newest technology in the field. I also treat all with equality and patience. Ultimately, I also hope to inspire children to become pediatric optometrists. Hobbies/Interests: Shopping, spending time with family and friends, watching movies and shows.

Undergraduate Education: IUPUI, Chemistry; Optometry School: Indiana University School of Optometry; Professional Achievements and Associations: Member of the IOA and AOA; Clinical Certifications and Specialities: Certified in prescribing MiSight contact lens to manage myopia in children, TLC affiliate in providing management of laser vision correction patients; The reason I became an optometrist is because I am one of those people that has to feel around like I am blind if I don't have my glasses on or contact lenses in. So needless to say, I was at the eye doctor regularly growing up. With being so reliant on the eye doctor, optometry was a field that naturally seemed like a good fit. My favorite part of helping my patients is being able to see clearly is crucial for experiencing life at its fullest. It is a blessing to deliver eye care to patients to ensure that they are able to live their best lives. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with family, being outdoors, and relaxing.

Veurmer Clark is a native of Dallas and attended Ursuline Academy. She completed her education at Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia and received her Doctorate of Optometry from Southern College of Optometry. Dr. Clark has been practicing since 1988. She is a member of the Dallas County Optometric Society and is certified in the treatment of eye diseases and the management of glaucoma. Dr. Clark has two children and lives in the North Dallas area. She enjoys spending time with her family and sports activities with her children.

Undergraduate Education: Northeastern State University. Optometry School: Northeastern State University. How are you impacting your local community or helping your patients live their best lives? By incorporating the patient’s hobbies with their glasses or contact prescriptions. Someone who golfs frequently may need a little different prescription than someone who sews. Hobbies/Interests: Sports, staying active, video games, spending good time with good people.

The reason I became an optometrist is: During the first visit to my eye doctor’s office as a teenager, I was impressed by how quickly the optometrist was able to help clear my vision with lenses. This was a “WOW, I can see clearly now…” amazing experience. So amazing, that the value of clear eyesight spoke to me that day and led me to want to create that WOW experience for others. Therefore, I chose to become an optometrist. My favorite part of helping my patients is: The “that’s amazing” expression that lights up a patient face when they see better brings me joy. Seeing this expression daily is rewarding. These are the reasons I love being an optometrist because I get to improve the lives of people every day by helping them see. In my spare time, I enjoy: The performing arts, magic, bicycling, and travel.
