Undergraduate Education: University of Pittsburgh, Optometry School: Pennsylvania College of Optometry. I impact the community and help patients live their best lives by providing comprehensive eye exams for adults and children, diabetic eye exams, contact lens fitting, and ocular disease management. In my free time I enjoy cars, motorcycling, hunting, target shooting, and spending time with my family.

With over 20 years of experience in eye care, I have had the privilege of serving the Weston community and building lasting relationships with my patients. It’s truly rewarding to care for individuals I first met as children and now see their own kids. I take pride in the personal connections I’ve formed, which have encouraged many to continue their eyecare journey with me, even after moving away. Nothing is more fulfilling than knowing I’ve positively impacted their lives. Hobbies/Interests: I enjoy traveling, attending music concerts, cooking, learning about history, and reading novels.

I grew up in South Florida, where I graduated from South Plantation High School. The school is just 10 minutes away from Weston, where I have worked for the last 25 years. It gives me a sense of great pride to be servicing the community that gave so much to me. I take pleasure in getting to know my patients personally and professionally to build lasting relationships. Hobbies/Interests: Soccer, golf, skiing, fantasy football, live music.

Certifications/Awards: I participated in the Biology undergraduate Honors Research program at Buffalo State College. Hobbies/Interests: Skiing/Snowboarding since I was 5 years old, and a current season ticket holder for the Buffalo Bills.

Hi I’m Dr. Colay White O.D and I have been practicing optometry a little over 14 years in and around the Atlanta area. I received my Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Georgia State University in 2005, and my Doctoral degree from New England College of Optometry in 2010. I have been trained in a variety of areas of optometry including pediatrics, specialty contact lens fitting including gas permeable and hybrid lenses for kerataconic patients. I also studied at a Lasik center in which I have co managed patients having Lasik and PRK procedures. I have also worked with a number of ophthalmologist for co- management care post operatively for LRI’s, cataract, and corneal transplant procedures, and I currently work in a primary care setting which allows me to perform everything from routine eye and contact lens exams, to foreign body removal and management of care for dry eye and other common chronic conditions. I am very passionate about providing quality eye care to all and helping educate patients on all preventive care to help preserve their future eye health. As a close neighbor to the community I am ready to be your provider and serve your needs. I look forward to seeing you soon!

How are you impacting your local community or helping your patients live their best lives? Following completion of ocular disease residency Dr. White is passionate about providing exceptional optometric care to all patients including routine eye care, contact lenses, diabetic eye examinations, glaucoma, and ocular disease management. Hobbies/Interests: running, hiking, cross country skiing, kayaking, and playing golf.

What drives your passion for optometry? As a glasses wearer since the age of two, I have experienced the benefits of quality eyecare. It is my hope to “pay it forward” by providing high level care to the people of my community. How are you helping patients live their best lives? By taking the time to identify my patients’ needs and providing solutions, I can help patients live their best lives. What does providing a transformational eyecare experience mean to you? A transformational eyecare experience means providing a high level of care that exceeds all expectations, giving each of my patients the best eye exam they have ever had. How are you impacting your local community? I love being the neighborhood optometrist, taking care of the needs of the families in the community where I live. I love it when I hear kids at a school pickup tell their friends, “That’s my eye doctor!” It doesn’t get much better than that. Hobbies/Interests: I love spending time with my family, doing DIY house projects, playing instruments (hand drums and didgeridoo), and napping.

Undergraduate Education: UNC-Chapel Hill; Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Materials and Engineering. Optometry School: Pennsylvania College of Optometry, Class of 2003. The reason I became an optometrist is: I have always been drawn to putting others' needs before my own...it is both a blessing and a curse! I wanted to become involved in-patient care where I could follow patients for many years...and I have done that for sure...for almost 20 years now! (25 years if you count from working in the offices before, I became a doc!) My favorite part of helping my patients is: There are not many things much more rewarding than giving the gift of sight. To know that a patient's life has been improved by improving their vision is a wonderful thing, and I love being a part of that! In my spare time, I enjoy: I love spending time with my wonderful husband and our three awesome kiddos...we have a crazy and busy life! Our children are heavily involved in musical theatre, and when we are able, we love spending time at the beach riding the waves and watching the beautiful sunsets.

How are you helping patients live their best lives? Crisp, clear vision is what most patients seek but often a comprehensive eye exam reveals health issues that could impact their whole health. What does providing a transformational eyecare experience mean to you? Ensuring the happiness and satisfaction of all patients. How are you impacting your local community? I was in private practice serving my community for 30 years and now with MED I can continue that with greater resources and flexibility. Hobbies/Interests: Sailing, literature, video games too!

Clinical Certifications and Specialties: General optometry and contact lens fitting; MiSight certified. The reason I became an optometrist is: I became an optometrist to provide eye care and optical solutions to my patients. I was mentored by my family optometrist who worked with the local medical community to provide excellent visual health care, and who provided the most current contact lens and optical options to his patients. My favorite part of helping my patients is: Engaging with each patient as an individual and finding the solution to their ocular or visual needs. In my spare time, I enjoy: Spending time with my family, travel, hiking, playing tennis, horseback riding, and reading.

Dr. Jennifer Willcox was born and raised in Memphis, TN. She graduated magna cum laude from the University of Memphis with a Bachelor of Science degree in Dietetics. She received her doctorate from Southern College of Optometry and graduated magna cum laude. In optometry school, Dr. Willcox was invited to become a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa honors society, and served on the council for the Student Society of the Tennessee Optometric Association. As a student, she received the William Feinbloom award for her clinical skills and was chosen to present research at the annual American Academy of Optometry meeting. After graduation from optometry school, Dr. Willcox completed her residency in Ocular and Refractive Surgery at Toyos Clinic in Germantown, TN. While at Toyos Clinic, she was responsible for the co-management and counseling of patients undergoing cataract and LASIK surgery, as well as diagnosis and treatment of ocular pathology. Dr. Willcox has published research regarding novel methods of dry eye treatment in the Journal of Photobiomodulation, Photomedicine, and Laser Surgery. She is Board Certified by the American Board of Optometry, and is an active member of the American Optometric Association and the Tennessee Association of Optometric Physicians. In her free time, Dr. Willcox enjoys traveling, scuba diving, cheering on the Memphis Tigers, and spending time with her husband, Tadd, and their two boys, Harrison and William.
