The reason I became an optometrist is: I was always interested in medicine as I come from a family involved in all aspects of the medical field. When I was in college, I originally planned on going into research but realized I enjoyed the personal aspect of patient care. Optometry combines my interest in science and vision with the enjoyment of helping new people every day. My favorite part of helping my patients is: My favorite part of the patient experience is sharing my knowledge of how the eye allows us to see the world around us. A transformational eyecare experience means providing a high level of care that exceeds all expectations, giving each of my patients the best eye exam they have ever had. How are you impacting your local community? I love being the neighborhood optometrist, taking care of the needs of the families in the community where I live. I love it when I hear kids at a school pickup tell their friends, “That’s my eye doctor!” It doesn’t get much better than that. The reason I became an optometrist is: I have always been drawn to putting others' needs before my own...it is both a blessing and a curse! I wanted to become involved in-patient care where I could follow patients for many years...and I have done that for sure...for almost 20 years now! (25 years if you count from working in the offices before, I became a doc!) My favorite part of helping my patients is: There are not many things much more rewarding than giving the gift of sight. To know that a patient's life has been improved by improving their vision is a wonderful thing, and I love being a part of that! In my spare time, I enjoy: I love spending time with my wonderful husband and our three awesome kiddos...we have a crazy and busy life! Our children are heavily involved in musical theatre, and when we are able, we love spending time at the beach riding the waves and watching the beautiful sunsets.
