The reason I became an optometrist is: To provide the best care possible and help patients see their best. My favorite part of helping my patients is: The look on a child's face when they see clearly for the first time. In my spare time, I enjoy: Reading and spending time with family.

Dr. Sylvester, a board-certified Therapeutic Optometrist, also holds Bachelors Degrees in Physics and Biology, as well as a Masters Degree in Chemistry. He uses his extensive knowledge to explain not just the whats, but also the hows and whys and to answer any questions you may have. Informed patients are happy patients – and happy patients come back year after year. Many of Dr. Sylvester’s patients travel to see him, some from out of state and even out of the country!

My favorite part of helping my patients is: Hearing from a Patient that their examination and experience was very thorough, and that they learned something about the eye/their eye that they were not aware of. By providing comprehensive eye exams for adults and children; specialty contact lens fittings; acute and chronic care of ocular diseases, including glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic exams, and ocular emergencies. Primarily, my grandmother passed as a result of a pituitary tumor not being diagnosed until she had lost her eyesight. How are you helping patients live their best lives? By providing the best eye health and wellness care, our patients will see their world in the best light possible. What does providing a transformational eyecare experience mean to you? Ensuring the happiness and satisfaction of all patients. How are you impacting your local community? I have participated in a local version of Mission Makeover and Christmas Prayers to help those less fortunate afford eyecare. Hobbies/Interests: I love to golf and to travel. I am eager to see the prophetic ministry including signs, miracles and wonders return.

It brings me so much joy to help others live a clear and comfortable life while building meaningful relationships with my patients and their families. Hobbies/Interests: I enjoy mountain biking, skiing, and exploring the great outdoors with my husband, son, and our pup Penny!

Dr. Thatcher graduated from Ferris State University in 2005 with a Bachelor of Science in Vision Science. In 2008, she earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from the Michigan College of Optometry. Dr. Thatcher completed an ocular disease residency at Indiana University School of Optometry in 2009. She is currently a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry. Dr. Thatcher has also participated in two mission trips to Mexico. Her areas of special interest include ocular disease and primary care.

Dr. James Thirion joined MyEyeDr.in January of 2024. Dr. Thirion and his wife grew up in the Tulsa area, where they met while working their first job at McDonald’s while still in High School. After graduating and being recognized for outstanding clinical skills from Northeastern State University Oklahoma College of Optometry with his Doctorate of Optometry, Dr. Thirion began working at Will Rogers Health Center in Nowata. Dr. Thirion has been recognized at National Meetings for projects he completed regarding amblyopia, identification of skin lesions, and contact lenses.

I completed my undergraduate education at New York University, with a major in Nursing and a minor in Psychology. After graduation, I worked in a management role at a Laser Vision Center. I soon came to realize that I wanted to be more involved in direct patient care. Optometry would be the perfect fit for my interests, and I went on to graduate with a Doctor of Optometry degree from the State University of New York Optometry School. My favorite part of being an eye doctor is building meaningful connections with my patients, focused on patient education and preventative care. I want to create an environment where patients feel listened to, cared for and confident that their eyecare needs are met. I love that I can help them improve the quality of their lives by improving their vision and eye health. Away from the office, I enjoy reading, hiking and traveling around the world as well as spending time with my husband and daughter exploring NYC.
