As both an optometrist and an artist, I aim to bring clarity not only to people’s vision but also to their appreciation of life’s vivid details. I aim to deepen understanding and foster a greater appreciation for the world we see and live in. Hobbies/Interests: painting/drawing, yoga, cooking.

The reason I became an optometrist is: to help others see as clearly as possible. My favorite part of helping my patients is: knowing I made a difference to help them live their best lives. In my spare time, I enjoy: playing and listening to music, trying new foods and recipes, and spending time with family and friends.

Dr. Johannes has been in practice since 2005. She received her undergraduate degree in Biology at St. Norbert College. And her Doctor of Optometry degree at the Illinois College of Optometry. She was a former Captain in the United States Army. When she is not working, she spends the majority of her time helping the less fortunate and marginalized. She loves her patients and has a mind, body, soul approach to caring for her patients.

The reason I became an optometrist is: I enjoy the process of helping people see their best. Dr. Reshma John received her doctorate of optometry from the MCPHS School of Optometry after completing her undergraduate education at Converse University with a B.S. in Biology. She is a member of the Gold Key International Optometric Honor Society. Dr. John enjoys traveling and spending time with her husband and son.

Undergraduate Education: Meredith College Optometry School: Southern College of Optometry Certifications/Awards: 1999 and 2000 Southern College of Optometry Clinician of the Year; 2008 Optometrist of the Year by Independent Weekly magazine; First Optometrist to be chosen as a member of the Corneal Team at Duke Eye Center (2018-2021). How are you impacting your local community or helping your patients live their best lives? By educating patients about the eye and visual system so they can be great advocates for their own healthcare. By providing comprehensive eye exams for adults and children including contact lens evaluations. By providing medical urgent care visits for ‘pink/red’ eyes, foreign bodies in the eye or sudden loss or changes in vision (including flashes and floaters). By diagnosing and treating ocular surface diseases including blepharitis, ocular rosacea, meibomian gland dysfunction and inflammatory dry eye disease By providing diabetic eye exams and managing other ocular diseases including glaucoma and cataracts. Hobbies/Interests: gardening, traveling, reading.

Optometry School: Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN. Certifications/Awards: Excellence in Low Vision Award while in optometry school; Vision USA Optometrist of the year. The reason I became an optometrist is: Always fascinated with the equipment at the eye doctor growing up. My favorite part of helping my patients is: giving them the best vision possible to they can live their best lives. In my spare time, I enjoy: Running in the parks; splaying sports with my kids.

I grew up in Sunny Miami, Florida. I have always wanted to become an eye doctor (optometrist). This was due to an eye condition I have; I was diagnosed with Diplopia (double vision). My Family Optometrist made this diagnosis. I was amazed and impressed that my condition could be fixed with prism lenses “immediately”. I went from barely passing in school to straight A’s after my eyeglasses were ready. I went to undergraduate College at Pfeiffer University in Misenheimer, North Carolina, just outside Charlotte, North Carolina. I went to Pfeiffer University on an academic and wrestling scholarship. I graduated with honors, Cum Laude with a bachelor’s degree in biology/Pre-Optometry in 1977. Then, I applied to and got accepted to Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee In 1979. I graduated with honors with the Doctor of Optometry degree (OD) in 1983. I was presented with the prestigious Feinbloom Low Vision Award at Graduation. Externships include General Practice & Clinical Practice at the Memphis Health Center, a Multidisciplinary Clinic. I had a successful Private Practice combined with a Nursing Home practice in South Florida for 42 years. I was also an Adjunct Clinical Professor at Nova Southeastern College of Optometry in Davie, Florida, from 1995 to 2001. I am a Member of the AOA and the South Carolina Optometric Association. I was appointed chairman of the Florida Optometric Association Nursing Home and Hospital practice committee from 1989 through 1991. I was also the President of the Florida Optometric Association from 1991 to 1992. In December 2023, I decided to sell my private practice of Optometry in South Florida and move to Waxhaw, North Carolina, where my pregnant daughter and son-in-law reside. I decided to semi-retire and chose to work part-time at MyEyeDr. In my spare time, I like to travel, be with family, grandchildren, friends, garden, watch sports, drive sports cars, visit restaurants, go to plays, and watch movies.

Dr. Julia Jose completed her bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Sciences at the University of South Florida. Her Optometry degree was completed in Nova Southeastern University, where she also earned a second bachelor’s degree in Vision Sciences. She completed specialty training in diabetic eye exams and ocular disease. Dr. Jose always had a passion for this field, but her passion grew further after she went on a mission trip to Nicaragua during the end of her second year of optometry school. During this eye-opening trip, she helped provide eye care to over 1,000 underserved people of Nicaragua. Dr. Jose is compassionate with her patients, thorough, and most of all personable, which is the biggest compliment she gets. She treats everyone on her chair like they are her friend or family. Dr. Jose moved to Dallas, TX from sunny Florida at the beginning of 2022 after getting married to her husband who is a Dallas native. In her spare time, Dr. Jose likes to spend time with her family and friends, travel, and find new things to do in Dallas.

Dr. Ning-Ju Juang grew up in Ann Arbor, MI and went the University of Michigan for undergraduate school. She decided to venture out west and pursue her passion for optometry at the University of California, Berkeley. After living in Chicago and New York, the pull of her hometown brought her back to Ann Arbor where she now resides with her family. Here interests include cooking, playing the violin, hiking, and traveling the world.

Dr. Angelica Juarez was born and raised in Galveston, Texas and attended the University of Houston where she received a Bachelors Degree in Biology. Dr. Juarez then graduated from the InterAmerican University of Puerto Rico School of Optometry. She is a board certified Therapeutic Optometrist and Optometric Glaucoma specialist. Passionate about eye care and committed to improving patient outcomes, Dr. Juarez is dedicated to building strong, trusting relationships with patients, taking time to listen to their concerns and offer personalized care. Outside of work, Dr. Juarez enjoys spending time outdoors, watching sports and reading.
